Per Schefter, if Cook does suit up against Detroit, it's not a lock the running back would be slated for his normal workload. Impact Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that Cook did "some work" at Friday's practice, following non-participation Wednesday and Thursday. The star running back did play through the same ankle sprain last week after missing just one game, but he took only 49 percent of Minnesota's offensive snaps in a 14-7 loss to the Browns, and then admitted a few days later that his ankle was still bothering him. While Cook also said that he plans to continue playing through pain/discomfort, fantasy managers should probably treat him as a game-time decision ahead of the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff this Sunday. Backfield mate Alexander Mattison become a top-10 play at RB for Week 5 if Cook is ultimately inactive for the highly favorable matchup.

Impact Cook was in a helmet and seemed to participate in some individual drills at the portion of Thursday's session open to the media, according to Chad Graff of The Athletic. Still, the Vikings put DNP next to Cook's name on their second injury report of Week 5 prep. Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reported that Cook intends to play through his sprained right ankle Sunday versus the Lions, as he believes he's trending toward active status. Cook would allay fears that he won't by at least putting in a limited practice Friday. In any case, Minnesota has trust in backup Alexander Mattison to fill in in the backfield if Cook is limited or sidelined this weekend.
