Sees heavy volume Montgomery rushed 20 times for 61 yards and caught three passes for 18 yards in the Bears' 20-17 win over the Bengals on Sunday.
Impact Montgomery was unable to pick up chunks of yardage on most of his runs, which contributed to the Bears not sustaining many long drives. After ceding significant work to Damien Williams last week, the backup only had four touches this week, and with 40 touches over the first two weeks of the season, Montgomery will continue to be an excellent weekly fantasy option based on talent and usage.

Strong showing in losing effort Montgomery rushed 16 times for 108 yards and a touchdown while hauling in his lone reception for 10 more yards in Sunday's 34-14 loss to the Rams.
Impact Montgomery was the only Chicago player on offense to have any sort of success against a stout Rams defense. In fact, he did most of his damage in the first half before a one-sided game script forced the Bears to begin airing it out. Montgomery did see the lion's share of carries as expected -- with Damien Williams (six carries) being the only other back to run the ball -- so higher-volume games could be in store if the Bears can keep games closer. The Bengals are on tap for Montgomery and the Bears next Sunday.

Impact Montgomery overcame an undisclosed injury to return to practice earlier in the week, though the team decided to play it safe with its workhorse back. Damien Williams worked as the primary back in Montgomery's place and carried the ball five times for eight yards. Impact Montgomery was a limited participant Monday after getting banged up on the first snap of Saturday's preseason win over Miami. It sounds like he'll be healthy enough to play in Saturday's exhibition with the Bills, if that's what Nagy wants.
