Impact Nelson didn't practice at all during the entire week and now is set to miss a second straight contest. Expect Will Holden to remain as the Lions' primary reserve tackle while Nelson's next chance to play is Sunday, Dec. 5 against the Vikings.

Halapoulivaati Vaitai - Won't play in Week 12 Vaitai (concussion) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Bears.
Impact Vaitai suffered a concussion in last week's game against the Browns and was unable to recover with a quick turnaround, so having him out isn't entirely surprising. Expect Tommy Kraemer to step up and fill the void as the starting right guard while Vaitai is out.

Riley Patterson - May kick Thursday Patterson will likely be the Lions' kicker Thursday against the Bears, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Impact Patterson was signed off the Patriots' practice squad on Nov. 16, but he was inactive for the Lions' loss to the Browns in Week 11. Despite Aldrick Rosas hitting his only field goal attempt in that game, he was reverted to the practice squad and will stay there for now. This means it'll likely be Patterson getting the nod this week, who is already on the active roster. This would be the Memphis products NFL debut.

Jared Goff - Status in question for Thursday Goff (oblique) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Bears.
Impact Goff has been tending to an oblique injury that kept him out of Week 11 action at Cleveland. The Lions have yet to tip their hand about their Week 12 starting quarterback, but coach Dan Campbell told Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com on Tuesday that he was "leaning" toward Goff being under center Thursday. The decision ultimately may come to a pregame workout, after which Detroit will release its list of inactives about 90 minutes before the 12:30 p.m. kickoff. Aside from Goff, Tim Boyle and even David Blough could be in the mix for the nod after Boyle underwhelmed in his spot start this past Sunday.
