Impact Adams will soon undergo surgery to address the torn quadriceps tendon in his left knee that he sustained in Monday's 17-16 win over the Broncos and will be sidelined for the rest of the season as a result. The upcoming procedure will be Adams' fourth since he joined the Seahawks ahead of the 2020 campaign, as he previously underwent a pair of shoulder surgeries along with another surgery last offseason to fuse two dislocated fingers. Seattle signed defensive back Teez Tabor off Atlanta's practice squad to replace Adams on the 53-man roster, but Josh Jones is likely to receive the first opportunity to take over Adams' spot in the starting lineup at safety alongside Quandre Diggs (knee).

Impact After applying pressure on Russell Wilson during the first half of Week 1 action, Adams limped to the sideline and then required a cart to go to the locker room. A left knee injury was the initial culprit, but he eventually was diagnosed with a quad tendon tear. Now that surgery will be ordered up, Adams is destined for injured reserve in the near future. While his 2022 campaign is over, he's also expected to undergo a procedure on the broken finger that he sustained in the early stages of training camp at some point.

Impact Adams has tended to shoulder concerns the past two seasons and even underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder back in December. He also had an offseason procedure to fuse the middle and ring fingers on his left hand. According to Rapoport, the most recent incident included getting his finger stuck in a teammate's helmet, for which he'll need to practice with a club and wear a special cast in games. The expectation is that Adams will have another surgery to address his finger, likely next offseason. When available, the strong safety is an IDP asset, averaging 6.3 tackles per game and compiling 21.5 sacks, four interceptions and two touchdowns in 70 career contests.
