Breakout day against Steelers Dobbins registered 113 rushing yards on 15 carries, adding one catch for eight yards during Sunday's 28-24 loss to Pittsburgh.

Impact Dobbins hadn't been handed more than nine carries in a game this season entering Sunday, but with Mark Ingram inactive (ankle), the rookie churned out more than double his previous career high in rushing yardage (48). Both Dobbins and Gus Edwards enjoyed success on the ground against Pittsburgh's stout front seven, splitting the carries 16-15 and racking up a combined 200 yards. Ingram only has two games with more than 35 rushing yards this season, but it's likely the reigning Pro Bowler regains some share of the workload once he's able to get back in the fold. That return may not come next Sunday, however, as Ingram has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain -- an injury that typically requires a multi-week recovery. Week 9 presents a challenging matchup regardless of who is shouldering the RB carries, as Baltimore heads into a showdown with the Colts' third-ranked rush defense.

Impact Dobbins' stats were nothing to write home about, but Mark Ingram left the game with an ankle injury, opening the door for the rookie to take on double-digit touches for the first time in his young career. The extent of Ingram's injury remains to be seen, but he will have an extra week to heal as the Ravens go on bye before returning to face the Steelers in Week 8. If the veteran is forced to miss any action, Dobbins and Gus Edwards would both stand to benefit from a fantasy perspective, though the team seems likely to continue its backfield-by-committee approach.

Impact Even with the Ravens controlling the game from start to finish, coach John Harbaugh elected not to find more work for the rookie, whose 18 snaps were fewer than fellow running backs Gus Edwards (25) and Mark Ingram (19). Dobbins was efficient with his opportunities and is now averaging 7.9 yards per carry and 7.3 yards per target on the season, but he shouldn't be counted on to see his role dramatically increase in the near future. So long as Ingram, Edwards and Dobbins are all healthy, the Ravens seem content to roll out a three-man backfield committee, which caps the fantasy upside of all parties.

Impact The rookie was more involved than he had been in recent weeks, seeing more than two carries for the first time since the season opener. Still, it was just five carries for Dobbins on 21 snaps while Lamar Jackson, Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards all saw at least seven attempts. Edwards' rushes seem to be coming at Dobbins' expense as he has out-carried Dobbins in three straight weeks. It's no longer just that Baltimore's deep running back rotation puts a cap on Dobbins' carry ceiling, it's also that Dobbins may be at the bottom of the pecking order for carries right now. The Ravens host the Bengals in Week 5.

Impact Dobbins saw next to no involvement on the ground as Baltimore trailed for most of the game, resulting in all three of the team's tailbacks finishing with under 40 rushing yards. To his credit, though, Dobbins made an impact through the air, actually leading the Ravens in receptions and receiving yards. Although his modest totals won't wow anyone, the rookie at least salvaged some production in an awful Ravens offensive outing. Furthermore, Week 4's matchup against Washington figures to favor a Baltimore rebound, which could offer more opportunities to the team's backfield.

Impact Dobbins' usage was surprisingly low Sunday after his impressive two-touchdown debut in Week 1. He played 20 snaps, which the same amount as Gus Edwards, but Edwards had 10 carries for a team-high 73 yards. The Ravens have deployed a fairly even backfield rotation thus far with Mark Ingram leading the way with 48 percent of the snap share while Dobbins has played 43 percent of the snaps and Edwards checking in at 35 percent. Dobbins did not see his first carry until midway through the third quarter. The rookie has plenty of talent, but consistent volume could be hard to come by with the Ravens using such a deep running back rotation, not to mention Lamar Jackson's contributions to the run game as well.
