Eyeing late-November return Pacheco (fibula) is expected to resume practicing in 2-to-3 weeks and is tracking toward a return from injured reserve in late November, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact Pacheco has already spent the requisite four games on injured reserve, as the Chiefs deactivated him Sept. 18 after he fractured his right fibula in a Week 2 win over the Bengals three days earlier. The running back underwent surgery shortly thereafter and seems to have steered clear of any setbacks in the rehab process, but he'll still have a few more checkpoints to pass before the Chiefs integrate him into practices. Given the timeline laid out by Rapoport, Pacheco should be expected to remain sidelined for at least the Chiefs' next three games, which will extend Kareem Hunt's leash as Kansas City's lead option out of the backfield.

Back on Chiefs' active roster The Chiefs signed Hendershot from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
Impact Hendershot began the regular season on the Chiefs' active roster but was waived Sept. 16. He oped to stay in Kansas City on the practice squad, but he's back on the 53-man roster after rookie tight end Jared Wiley suffered a torn ACL during Friday's practice. Hendershot will serve as the Chiefs' No. 3 tight end behind Travis Kelce and Noah Gray.

Impact Wiley suffered a season-ending torn ACL during Friday's practice. The rookie fourth-round pick will shift his attention towards being healthy for the 2025 season. The Chiefs signed Peyton Hendershot from the practice squad to the active roster in a corresponding move.

Impact Johnson was diagnosed with a concussion during the Chiefs' Week 8 win over the Raiders. Johnson's next chance at suiting up will be Week 10 against Denver on Sunday, Nov. 10. Joshua Williams is the top candidate to start at corner Monday alongside Trent McDuffie.

Impact Danna was a limited practice participant all week, but he will miss a third straight game due to a pectoral injury. His next chance at suiting up will be Week 10 against the Broncos on Sunday, Nov. 10. The Chiefs acquired Joshua Uche from the Patriots on Monday, and he should see significant playing time at edge right away opposite starter George Karlaftis.

Impact The rookie fourth-round pick has served as the Chiefs' No. 3 tight end behind starter Travis Kelce and backup Noah Gray. Wiley's rookie season will end after seven regular-season games and he'll finish with one catch for seven yards. He'll turn his attention towards being fully healthy for the 2025 campaign.

Impact Smith-Schuster thus will miss a second consecutive contest due to a hamstring injury. Aside from a 7-130-0 performance on eight targets Week 5 agains the Saints, he's been targeted just four times in his other five appearances this season. Whenever he's healthy enough to return to action, Smith-Schuster will have to vie with DeAndre Hopkins, Xavier Worthy, Justin Watson and Mecole Hardman for work in the Chiefs' receiving corps.

Impact Smith-Schuster -- who was inactive in Week 8 -- logged back-to-back absences from practice Thursday and Friday, and his apparent absence Saturday clouds his status for Monday night's game against the Buccaneers. If Smith-Schuster is sidelined again, Xavier Worthy, DeAndre Hopkins and Justin Watson would be on track lead the Chiefs' Week 9 WR corps, with Hopkins a candidate to be more involved in the game plan in his second game with Kansas City since arriving through a trade with Tennessee.
