Back at practice Cole (illness) is scheduled to practice Wednesday with the Jets activating him from the reserve/COVID-19 list, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Impact Cole's return to the mix arrives at an opportune time, as he's expected to slide into a starting role on the perimeter opposite Elijah Moore (quadriceps) after No. 1 wideout Corey Davis (groin) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a season-ending injury that requires surgery, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.com. Davis' absence was already expected to translate to more playing time and targets for Cole, but his role in the passing attack could grow larger Sunday against the Saints if Moore is unavailable due to an injury that prompted head coach Robert Saleh to classify him as day-to-day. Through 10 games to date, Cole has caught 19 of his 33 targets for 299 yards.
