Scores in win Hodge caught two of four targets for 21 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-13 preseason win over the Giants.

Impact Hodge opened the scoring with a seven-yard touchdown grab in the first quarter, helping his case to earn Cleveland's fifth receiver job behind Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins and Donovan Peoples-Jones. Hodge will hope to close out the preseason well with another good showing next Sunday versus the Falcons.

Impact The Browns offered Hodge a contract tender in mid-March, allowing the team to retain his rights if they match another team's offer. While he's not a huge piece of the Cleveland passing attack, Hodge should be a valuable contributor on special teams once again in 2021.

Impact The move puts the team in a position to retain Hodge, who is set to become a restricted free agent. The 26-year-old caught 11 passes (on 17 targets) for 180 yards in nine games last season in a depth role, while making most of his mark as one of the Browns' most valuable special teamers.

He opened the season as the clear No. 3 wideout, but his usage lagged significantly behind Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry. Then, as rookie Donovan Peoples-Jones showed promise when given a chance, Hodge fell further behind on the depth chart. Hodge becomes a restricted free agent during the offseason and is looking at a similar role, in which he's used heavily on special teams, if the Browns bring him back.

Impact Hodge got two targets on 42 percent snap share in the Browns' Week 17 win over Pittsburgh before landing on the COVID list for a rematch in the wild-card round. Rookie wideout Donovan Peoples-Jones then took 69 percent of snaps in the 48-37 win last week, catching one of two targets for eight yards. It isn't clear which of the two wide receivers will handle the No. 3 role this Sunday in Kansas City, and it's possible they share snaps behind starters Jarvis Landry and Rashard Higgins.
