Impact It's not a surprising development given Mariota was expected to miss multiple weeks after aggravating a quadriceps injury in Monday's overtime win over the Ravens. The 2015 first-round pick was essentially a gadget player to begin the season, but the designation means Nathan Peterman will be the top backup behind starter Derek Carr.
