Back with Detroit The Lions signed Alexander to the practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Impact Alexander last saw regular-season action in 2022 with the Lions, appearing in four games and logging one catch for seven yards. After spending the entire 2023 campaign on Detroit's practice squad, Alexander attempted to make the active roster during training camp in August, but he was cut ahead of the 53-man roster deadline. Now back with the Lions, Alexander is available to be elevated to from the practice squad to the active roster should Detroit need depth at wide receiver on game day.

Impact Alexander initially signed with Detroit in August of 2022. He got into six games during his first year with the team and played mostly on special teams, then remained on the practice squad all of last season. The wideout had a strong preseason this year, catching seven of 10 targets for 106 yards, so he could land back on the Lions' practice squad if he clears waivers.

Inks futures deal with Detroit The Lions signed Alexander (ankle) to a reserve/future contract Monday, Tim Twentyman of the team's official site reports.
Impact Alexander moved back and forth between Detroit's active roster and practice squad over the first half of the season. The 25-year-old then picked up an ankle injury while making his third and final appearance of the season against Miami in Week 8. Alexander thus finished the 2022 campaign with one reception for seven yards over four appearances, and he'll now look to carve out a permanent spot on the active roster heading into the 2023 campaign.
