Career season ends on quiet note Gesicki secured two of three targets for 22 yards during the Dolphins' season-finale 33-24 win over the Patriots. Impact Gesicki put together a career year in 2021, finishing the campaign with 73 catches for 780 yards and two touchdowns in 17 appearances. This offseason the Dolphins will need to make a key decision about Gesicki's future with the team, as he is currently set for free agency. Miami's clearest choice between re-signing the 2018 second-round pick or letting him walk. The team could also opt to tag the receiving tight end, and/or to attempt to trade him and recoup some value on investment. After operating as essentially the team's No. 2 receiving option in 2021, Gesicki's value to the Dolphins' offense is clear. However, with coaching changes already having been made, it's unclear how much value Miami will place on positional continuity this offseason.
