Impact Gesicki is expected to miss time due to the shoulder injury he picked up in the fourth quarter of last weekend's loss to the Chiefs, so it doesn't come as any sort of surprise to see him absent from practice. The results of Gesicki's MRI should be disclosed prior to Sunday's game against the Patriots, but all signs currently point to Adam Shaheen and Durham Smythe splitting the workload at tight end.

Impact Gesicki was injured in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 33-27 loss to the Chiefs, finishing with five catches for 65 yards and two touchdowns. He appeared to be dealing with a lot of pain when he came off the field, and he wasn't able to re-enter the game. An MRI scheduled for Monday should give the Dolphins a better idea of how much time Gesicki will miss.

Hurts shoulder Sunday Gesicki exited Sunday's game against the Chiefs with an apparent right shoulder injury, Hal Habib of The Palm Beach Post reports.
Impact Gesicki was tackled awkwardly near the sidelines, and he went down in clear pain before going directly to the locker room. Before his departure, Gesicki caught five passes for 65 yards and two touchdowns. It's yet another hit to the Dolphins' receiving weapons, as both DeVante Parker and Jakeem Grant exited with leg injuries Sunday.

High-volume day in win Gesicki brought in nine of 11 targets for 88 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' 19-7 win over the Bengals on Sunday.
Impact The third-year tight end led the Dolphins in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon, with his catch tally also serving as a season high. Gesicki's fourth touchdown of the season -- his second in as many games -- capped off Miami's first second-half drive and was an ideal bonus to what was already a very strong effort for the Penn State product in both seasonal and daily PPR formats.
