Finds end zone in win Gesicki brought in three of four targets for 38 yards and a touchdown in the Dolphins' 31-27 win over the Lions on Sunday.

Impact Gesicki checked in second in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon, and he brought in his fourth touchdown grab of the season on an 11-yard catch late in the third quarter that proved to be the difference in the game for the Dolphins. The veteran tight end's involvement has picked up over the last three games after an uneven start to the campaign, as Gesicki now has a 12-134-2 line in that span. Gesicki's next opportunity to extend that streak comes against the Bears in a Week 9 road matchup.

Impact The little-used tight end was the surprise recipient of Teddy Bridgewater's two touchdown passes, scoring from four and three yards out in the fourth quarter to make things interesting. Gesicki's usage in new head coach Mike McDaniel's offense has been inconsistent to say the least, and Durham Smythe's (hamstring) inactive status may have certainly helped his teammate's cause Sunday; nevertheless, perhaps the season-best showing will allow Gesicki to continue seeing more opportunities in a Week 7 Sunday night battle against the Steelers.

Impact Gesicki was working with Skylar Thompson under center for most of Sunday's divisional loss, but when the Dolphins deployed a trick play utilizing the tight end position at the goal line, it was Durham Smythe (hamstring) who scored. Even if one of Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) or Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) are able to retake the field Week 6 against the Vikings, Gesicki's usage makes him difficult to trust for fantasy purposes. He has just one game this season with more than two catches.
