Impact The Philadelphia training staff will likely hold Sanders out of practices during the upcoming week and wait and see how his hand heals over the next several days before reassessing his condition ahead of the Jan. 9 regular-season finale against the Cowboys. If Sanders is cleared to return for Week 18 or during the first round of the postseason (should the Eagles secure a playoff spot), he may need to wear some form of protection on his fractured hand. Sirianni added that Jordan Howard (neck), who suffered a stinger in Week 16, could be ready to go for the game in Washington, in which case he and Boston Scott would likely split most of the carries out of the Philadelphia backfield. Rookie Kenneth Gainwell remains on hand as a change-of-pace option.

Impact Sanders was removed from Sunday's win over the Giants in the second quarter and later left the stadium with a soft cast around his broken hand. Jordan Howard (stinger) also made an early exit, leaving Boston Scott and Kenneth Gainwell as the Eagles' healthy running backs. Scott would be the best bet for carries if both Sanders and Howard are out Week 17 against Washington.

If he's set to take on his usual allotment of snaps, he could be in line for a significant workload again after taking on 47 touches in the Eagles' last two contests, which could yield fruit versus a Giants defense that has conceded 153.6 yards from scrimmage per game to running backs this season.
