Jordan Addison - Missing out on another practice Addison (ankle) didn't participate in the portion of Thursday's practice that was available to the media, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Impact Addison was present for the session, though he was merely conducting rehab on a side field. With Addison set to be listed as a non-participant in practice for the second day in a row, he'll likely need to practice with his healthy teammates as at least a limited participant Friday to have a legitimate chance at playing Sunday against the Texans. While Addison was sidelined for the Vikings' Week 2 loss to the 49ers, Jalen Nailor (3-54-1 receiving line on four targets, 93 percent snap share) was the biggest beneficiary of an expanded role behind No. 1 wideout Justin Jefferson (quadricep).

Andrew Van Ginkel - Limited Wednesday Van Ginkel (foot) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Impact Van Ginkel played through his foot issue in the Vikings' Week 2 win over the 49ers, so his limited participation Wednesday is likely precautionary. However, if the Wisconsin product's injury is too much to overcome in Week 3, expect Dallas Turner (knee) and Pat Jones to see increased snaps on Minnesota's first-team defense.

Ivan Pace Jr. - Dealing with quadriceps issue Pace (quadriceps) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.

Impact The second-year linebacker out of Cincinnati appears to have sustained a quadriceps injury during his eight-tackle outing Sunday. Pace's practice participation Thursday and Friday will likely provide a clearer indication of whether the 23-year-old will be able to suit up for the Vikings' Week 3 matchup with the Texans.

Aaron Jones - Limited by hip issue Jones was limited at practice Wednesday due to a hip injury.

Impact Jones' snap shares (55 percent in Week 1, 61 percent in Week 2) have been well ahead of backup Ty Chandler's (35 percent both times) this season. Having said that, Jones has 30 touches for 177 yards from scrimmage and one TD so far, while Chandler has a 21-124-0 line, respectively. Jones' injury history must be accounted for when it comes to the Vikings backfield, but he at least was able to mix into some drills Wednesday, so the team may be exercising caution with the eighth-year pro to ensure he's good to go Sunday against the Texans.

Jordan Addison - Misses practice Addison (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday.

Impact Coach Kevin O'Connell said Monday that he was hoping to have Addison back for Week 3 against Houston after he missed Sunday's win over the 49ers with an ankle sprain suffered Week 1. While the practice absence isn't ideal, O'Connell said Wednesday that Addison is "still in that day-to-day world" and getting treatment on his injured ankle, per Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Fellow Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson (quad) is listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's injury report.

Impact Meanwhile, fellow wide receiver Jordan Addison didn't practice at all, instead rehabbing his sore right ankle on a side field. Coach Kevin O'Connell told Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune earlier Wednesday that the Vikings are hopeful Jefferson will be able to ramp up his activity level as the week goes on, but the quad contusion that he suffered this past Sunday against the 49ers may result in a designation for him ahead of a Week 3 matchup with the Texans.

Myles Gaskin - Signed off practice squad The Vikings signed Gaskin to the 53-man roster from the practice squad Wednesday, Craig Peters of the team's official site reports.

Impact Gaskin had been elevated from the practice squad for Minnesota's first two regular-season games, and the placement of tight end Nick Muse (hand) on IR now opens a spot for him on the active roster. He'll continue handling a depth role behind Aaron Jones and Ty Chandler, while also contributing in the return game, Sunday versus the Texans.

Nick Muse - Lands on short-term IR The Vikings placed Muse (hand) on injured reserve Wednesday, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Impact Head coach Kevin O'Connell said Muse suffered a minor hand fracture during Sunday's win over the 49ers, during his recovery of an onside kick. The depth tight end will need to spend at least four games on IR, making his earliest possible return date Oct. 24 versus the Rams.

Barring any setbacks in practice, Kevin Seifert of ESPN.com notes that the star wide receiver seems to be trending in the right direction to play Sunday versus the Texans. Meanwhile, O'Connell said No. 2 wide receiver Jordan Addison (ankle) is "still in that day-to-day world."

Impact Greenard had six QB hurries, according to Pro Football Focus, as he helped lead a deep pass rush that had six sacks. He played on 47 of the defense's 70 snaps as Minnesota features a deep rotation of pass rushers. Greenard rebounded after recording no tackles or sacks in Week 1.

Pat Jones II - Two more sacks against 49ers Jones had two sacks, five total tackles and two tackles for a loss in Sunday's win over the 49ers.

Impact Jones has had two sacks in each of Minnesota's first two games as he had five total sacks his last two seasons. The 2021 third-round draft pick wasn't thought of as an impact pass rusher but he's benefited from the focus on other pass rushers amid a deep rotation. Jones played on just 34 of the defense's 74 snaps, so he may not get the volume of opportunities to come close to keeping up this pace.
