Alvin Kamara - Two carries in preseason opener Kamara rushed twice for three yards and did not draw a target in the Saints' 16-14 preseason win over the Cardinals on Saturday night.

Impact The veteran running back was in on the first two possessions with the rest of the healthy members of the Saints' first-team offense and recorded a five-yard gain on the first play from scrimmage. Kamara isn't expected to need much preseason action to prepare for what will be his eighth NFL campaign, so it remains to be seen if he'll be back on the field for a road exhibition matchup versus the 49ers on Sunday, Aug. 18.

Impact Werner has solidified himself as a core part of New Orleans' defense since joining the team in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, so it's unsurprising to see him be locked in on a long-term deal with one year remaining on his rookie contract. The starting linebacker has missed a handful of practice sessions due to a shoulder injury, which could impact his availability for Saturday's preseason opener against the Cardinals, but there's not yet any reason to be worried he'll be sidelined long.
