Gary Brightwell - Non-participant at practice Brightwell (hamstring) did not participate at practice Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Impact Brightwell was forced out of Sunday's game versus Washington with a hamstring injury, which is now also keeping him out of practice to start the week. Unless he can come back to practice Thursday or Friday, he'll probably have to sit out Week 8 versus the Jets.

Darren Waller - Dealing with hamstring issue Waller was a limited practice participant Wednesday due to a hamstring issue, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Impact Waller previously was plagued by a hamstring injury Weeks 1 and 2, but he played through it and has yet to miss a game as a member of the Giants. Overall, he's put together a respectable 35-380-1 receiving line on 49 targets while working with two different quarterbacks in Daniel Jones (neck) and Tyrod Taylor. Still, Waller's status will be one to monitor as the week goes on to ensure he's on pace to suit up Sunday versus the Jets.

Saquon Barkley - Begins week as limited Barkley (elbow) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Impact Barkley hyperextended his left elbow in this past Sunday's win over the Commanders but continued to play through the issue on his way to 24 touches for 118 yards from scrimmage and one receiving touchdown on an 83 percent snap share. He told Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com after the game that he'll "be alright," but the Giants nonetheless are capping Barkley's reps to kick off Week 8 prep. As a result, Barkley's status will be one to watch as the weekend draws closer to get a sense of his availability for Sunday's game against the Jets.

Darren Waller - Not seen at practice Waller isn't on the field for the media-access portion of Wednesday's practice, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.

Impact Head coach Brian Daboll said Waller would be a limited participant, suggesting the tight end may still join his teammates once he's done getting treatment for an unspecified injury. Waller is coming off his best fantasy performance of the season, having caught seven of eight targets for 98 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 14-7 win over the Commanders. The Giants don't sound too worried about their star tight end's availability for a matchup with the Jets this Sunday.

Impact Daniel Jones (neck) has been throwing in practice since last week but still hasn't been cleared for contact. Daboll confirmed that Jones will be the Giants' starter when healthy, despite Tyrod Taylor having performed well in two consecutive starts. The longer it takes for Jones to be cleared for contact, however, the more difficult it becomes to envision him playing Sunday versus the Jets. Jones will likely be officially listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's injury report, and he will almost certainly need to practice in full Thursday or Friday to have any chance at playing this weekend.

Impact Jackson was signed to the Browns' active roster Saturday, played seven snaps on special teams Sunday against the Colts and was cut by the team Monday. Rather than going unclaimed, Jackson was picked up by the Giants, who are in need of backfield depth with Eric Gray (calf) placed on injured reserve, while Saquon Barkley (elbow) and Gary Brightwell (hamstring) are both questionable for the Week 8 game against the Jets.
