Impact Harrison, who played a season-high 11 snaps last week against Dallas, has been used sparingly since the Browns acquired him from Jacksonville a month ago, but defensive coordinator Joe Woods feels he's prepared if needed. "He's getting better. He's understanding defenses more and more each week, and we are going to really try to get him some more reps in this game and continue to do that throughout the season," said Woods. The Browns could use improvement at safety, where starters Joseph (49.4) and Andrew Sendejo (46.9) are below the average defensive grade for safeties (58.3) per Pro Football Focus.

Impact The 2018 third-round pick started each of his 14 games last season, piling up 71 tackles (44 solo), nine pass defenses, two interceptions and two sacks while getting PFF's No. 65 grade among 83 qualified safeties. The Browns needed some help after rookie second-round pick Grant Delpit suffered a season-ending Achilles injury, while the Jaguars continue to swap veterans for draft picks -- in this case a 2021 fifth-rounder. Harrison will compete for snaps with Karl Joseph, Andrew Sendejo and Sheldrick Redwine, potentially offering IDP appeal if he eventually lands in a three-down role.

Impact Harrison was placed in the protocol Thursday but quickly passed the necessary tests to get back on the field. The 2018 third-round pick is preparing for another year as the Jaguar's starting free safety. In 2019, Harrison compiled 71 stops, two sacks, nine pass breakups and two interceptions while averaging 60.4 snaps per game.
