Returns to practice Harrison cleared the NFL's concussion protocol and returned to practice Friday, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.

Impact Harrison was placed in the protocol Thursday but quickly passed the necessary tests to get back on the field. The 2018 third-round pick is preparing for another year as the Jaguar's starting free safety. In 2019, Harrison compiled 71 stops, two sacks, nine pass breakups and two interceptions while averaging 60.4 snaps per game.

Enters concussion protocol Harrison is in the concussion protocol Thursday, John Reid of The Florida Times-Union reports.

Impact Harrison will need to fully clear the league's concussion protocol before he's allowed to fully resume practicing, but he has the benefit of plenty of time to get right before Week 1. He's set to start at strong safety against Indianapolis in the season-opener if healthy.

On COVID list The Jaguars placed Wingard (illness) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday.

Impact Undrafted out of Wyoming last season, Wingard played significant snaps Weeks 12-14 for an injured Ronnie Harrison but otherwise was almost exclusively a special-teamer. Overall, he finished with 30 tackles (22 solo), one sack and one forced fumble in 16 games. As the Jags kick off camp, Wingard will have to wait until he passes the required tests before he can join his teammates.
