D.J. James - Comes off NFI list James (undisclosed) was activated off Seattle's active/non-football injury list Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official website reports.

Impact James had been dealing with an undisclosed injury, but he's eligible to return to the field now that he's passed his physical. Since the 2024 sixth-round pick is fully healthy once again, he's expected to compete with Chris Steele and Nehemiah Pritchett for a depth role in the Seahawks' secondary as the offseason progresses.

Impact The rookie cornerback out of Auburn was dealing with some form of injury, but he's now passed his physical and is eligible to take part in training camp. Pritchett will likely be competing for a depth role in the Seahawks' secondary now that he's returned to full health.

Impact Undrafted out of Wyoming earlier this year, Gibbs signed with the Seahawks as a free agent. He'll need to get on the field sooner than later if he wants a real shot at making the team.

Anthony Bradford - Starts camp on NFI list The Seahawks placed Bradford (undisclosed) on the active/NFI list Thursday, John Boyle of the team's official website reports.

Impact Bradford battled ankle and knee issues last season and again tweaked his ankle during OTAs earlier this offseason. But his placement on NFI suggests it's not one of those issues that landed him on this list. The 2023 fourth-rounder started 10 of 14 games he appeared in as a rookie and is expected to open the 2024 season as the Seahawks' starting right guard.

Cameron Young - Starts camp on PUP list The Seahawks placed Young (undisclosed) on the active/PUP list Thursday, John Boyle of the team's official website reports.

Impact Young was a fourth-round pick out of Mississippi State last year and played in 16 games as a rookie, making one start. Across 205 defensive snaps and another 86 on special teams, Young recorded 18 tackles (10 solo) and one tackle for loss. The nature of his injury is unclear at this time, but Young is eligible to be activated at any time this summer.

Drake Thomas - Opens training camp on PUP The Seahawks placed Thomas (knee) on the active/PUP list Thursday, John Boyle of the team's official website reports.

Impact Undrafted out of NC State last year, Thomas signed with the Raiders but was later claimed off waivers by the Seahawks at final cuts last summer. He appeared in seven games for Seattle before injuring his knee in Week 9. Thomas spent the remainder of the season on injured reserve. He can be activated at any point this summer.

Impact A sixth-round pick out of New Mexico last year, Reed appeared in 10 games as a rookie, seeing 29 snaps on defense and another 157 on special teams before tearing his ACL in the Week 11 loss to the Rams. His availability for Week 1 of the upcoming season remains in question.

Impact The 23-year-old went undrafted out of Coastal Carolina last year and appeared in just one game for Seattle in 2023. He played two defensive snaps and another eight on special teams in Week 4 against the Giants. Boykin is fighting for a roster spot this summer.

Impact Lucas' knee issues forced him to miss 11 of 17 games last season. He needed offseason surgery and isn't quite 100 percent. There's been no indication Lucas is in danger of missing Week 1. He can be activated at any point during training camp.

Impact The wide receiver can still return during training camp because he moved to the active/NFI list before camp started, per Boyle. Williams signed with Seattle in May after going undrafted. The former defensive back caught just two passes for 10 yards at Tennessee in his first season as a receiver last year, but he did find a role as a punt and kick returner.

Impact Dodson is dealing with an undisclosed injury, but it looks like he may not be ready for the start of training camp next week. The 26-year-old posted a career-best 74 tackles (57 solo) and 2.5 sacks across 17 regular-season appearances with the Bills last season, and once healthy he figures to compete for a significant role in Seattle's linebacker corps, which no longer features Bobby Wagner and Jordyn Brooks at the top of the depth chart.

Impact Baker still appears to be recovering from a right wrist injury he suffered Week 18 of last season, and which required surgery. He can come off the PUP list and practice at any point during training camp, once healthy. The 27-year-old linebacker could earn a near every-down role in Seattle's defensive scheme, if he can recover without having to miss too much of camp.

Marcus Simms - Set to sign with Seattle The Seahawks are expected to sign Simms to a contract Tuesday pending a physical examination, per Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times.

Impact Simms failed to catch on in the NFL after being waived from the Jaguars' injured reserve with a concussion in November of his rookie season. The 2019 undrafted free agent has not signed with an NFL team since being released by Jacksonville. But, he turned heads in the UFL this spring, logging 23 catches for 426 yards and three touchdowns with the Michigan Panthers. Simms also tallied over 1,000 yards as returner on special teams during his collegiate career at West Virginia. He'll likely need to leverage his skills as a returner in order to carve out a role with Seattle this offseason.
