Impact Palmer logged a robust and season-high 55 snaps in the loss, but he was only able to match his season high in receptions with the additional opportunity. Impact The knee issue has presented some discomfort for Mayfield, but it didn't stop him from starting on a short week and completing 25 of 42 pass attempts for 237 yards and two touchdowns while adding 19 yards on three carries this past Thursday in the Buccaneers' 24-18 loss to the Bills. The Buccaneers still elected to send Mayfield in for an MRI, but with those tests revealing nothing concerning, the veteran signal-caller doesn't appear in danger of missing any time. With 10 days between their Week 8 and Week 9 game, the Buccaneers are hopeful the mini-bye week will allow Mayfield to heal up a bit and head into the matchup with Houston in better condition than he had been against the Bills.

Impact Neal was second on the team in total tackles behind Lavonte David (14 tackles) on Thursday, and the former is second to the latter in tackles on the season with 56. Neal is well on his way to smashing his career-high 66 tackles registered last season and could break that number as soon as Week 9 when the Buccaneers face the Texans in Houston.

Impact White had limited opportunities on the ground due to game script, although his 4.3 yards per carry tied his season high from Week 2, when he posted a 17-carry, 73-yard effort versus the Bears. Where the versatile second-year back really shined Thursday was as a receiver, with his catch and yardage totals both leading the Buccaneers on the night. Both numbers were also season-high figures, and White now boasts a 13-135 receiving line on an unblemished catch rate over the last two contests heading into a Week 9 road matchup against the Texans on Sunday, Nov. 5.

Mayfield hit his top duo of Chris Godwin and Mike Evans for three- and 24-yard scoring tosses in the second and third quarters, respectively, but he couldn't get the Buccaneers past their own 45-yard line on the final possession of the contest. Despite Tampa Bay suffering its third straight loss Thursday, Mayfield has put together a serviceable body of work through the first seven games on his way to 1,600 passing yards and an impressive 10:4 TD:INT. He'll next take aim at the Texans in a Week 9 road matchup on Sunday, Nov. 5.
