Impact Despite opening Week 9 prep with with no activity Wednesday, Jones handled every rep one day later, setting him up to play Sunday versus the Rams. Meanwhile, Mike Evans (ankle) remained limited Thursday, so there's a lingering question mark in the Buccaneers' receiving corps. Evans doesn't appear to be in danger of being inhibited or out this weekend, so Jones likely will be the team's No. 3 option behind Evans and Chris Godwin.

Impact Evans maintained his activity level from Wednesday, giving him just one more opportunity to get back to a full session and get rid of his designation ahead of Sunday's game against the Rams. As for the rest of the Buccaneers' receiving corps, Julio Jones (knee) followed up a DNP to begin Week 9 prep with all activity Thursday, while Russell Gage (hamstring) has remained sidelined. Assuming Evans gains clearance to play this weekend, Tampa Bay will have its usual top three WRs available in Evans, Chris Godwin and Jones.

Impact Murphy-Bunting has been sidelined since Week 5 while on the mend from a quad injury, but the practice report for Wednesday showed he's nearing a return. Assuming he can piece together a few more practices later in the week, he should be ready to roll Sunday against the Rams.

Impact Hicks hasn't seen game action since suffering a foot injury in Week 2, but he appears to be eyeing a Week 9 return against the Rams after logging a full practice. He recorded five tackles (two solo) in his first two contests prior to the injury and figures to add a huge boost to this Tampa Bay defensive line, assuming he's cleared to play Sunday.

Carlton Davis III - Full participant Wednesday Davis (hip) was a full participant in practice Wednesday.

Impact Davis has been battling a hip injury over the last few weeks, but after missing his squad's Week 8 matchup against the Ravens, he appears on track to return Sunday against the Rams. His presence will be a welcome sight for this Buccaneers defense, as he's recorded four passes defensed, one forced fumble and one recovered fumble through six games in 2022.

Impact Brate is taking part in his first noticeable on-field work since he suffered a neck injury Week 6 at Pittsburgh. The Buccaneers likely are exercising the utmost caution with the tight end after he sustained a concussion and the aforementioned health concern in the span of three games. In any case, with some activity under his belt this week, Brate's status bears watching as the week continues.

Impact Since injuring his hamstring Week 7 at Carolina, Gage hasn't stepped foot on the practice field. Julio Jones (knee) also sat out Wednesday's session, while Mike Evans (ankle) was a limited participant. For the moment, Chris Godwin, Scotty Miller, Breshad Perriman and Jaelon Darden are the healthy members of the Buccaneers' receiving corps.

Impact Making just his third appearance of the season last Thursday against the Ravens, Jones salvaged his day with a late touchdown and finished with a 2-21-1 receiving line on four targets. With Russell Gage (hamstring) sidelined, Jones (39 of 68) ranked third behind Mike Evans (64) and Chris Godwin (61) in offensive snaps, but it didn't translate to much production.
