He'll have a few days to recover before the Ducks face the Sharks on Saturday, but Ross Johnston could see a role for Anaheim if Lundestrom is unavailable.

Impact Reimer was waived by Buffalo on Sunday, but he'll land with Anaheim ahead of the regular season. The 36-year-old made 25 regular-season appearances for Detroit last year, logging an 11-8-2 record, 3.11 GAA and .904 save percentage. If he sticks with the Ducks this year, he'll likely serve as a backup netminder behind Lukas Dostal.

Frank Vatrano - Finds twine Friday Vatrano scored a goal on seven shots in Friday's 3-2 preseason shootout win over the Sharks.

Impact Vatrano has two goals over three preseason outings. The 30-year-old had a career year in 2023-24 with 37 goals, 60 points, 156 hits and 272 shots on net over 82 games. He also shot 13.6 percent, which isn't outrageous for him, but is still likely to lead to some regression. It won't help that the additions of Cutter Gauthier and Robby Fabbri are set to eat into some of Vatrano's minutes both on the power play and at even strength. Vatrano can still offer decent category coverage, but he'll be most helpful in formats that don't play with plus-minus rating.

Lukas Dostal - Secures shootout win Dostal allowed two goals on 25 shots in Friday's 3-2 preseason shootout win over the Sharks.

Impact Dostal went 2-1-0 with eight goals allowed on 108 shots over four preseason contests. Facing a heavy workload has been a theme for a few years in Anaheim, giving Dostal higher fantasy value in formats that reward shots against or saves if he can continue to turn them aside at a reasonable rate. The 24-year-old is poised to open the season as the Ducks' top goalie while John Gibson remains on the mend from an appendectomy.

Troy Terry - Back in action Terry (lower body) will play Friday versus the Sharks.

Impact Terry will suit up in the preseason finale after missing practice Monday and Tuesday. The 27-year-old will fill a top-six role, though he may have limited minutes to avoid aggravating the injury. Nonetheless, Terry looks good to go for Opening Night on Oct. 12 versus the Sharks.

Lukas Dostal - Facing Sharks Dostal will be in goal on the road in Friday's preseason game versus the Sharks.

Impact Dostal was sharp in his third preseason game Wednesday, stopping 35 of 37 shots to defeat Utah. The 24-year-old goalie will have plenty of time to prepare for the regular season after this contest, as the Ducks' season opener is Saturday, Oct. 12, also in San Jose, as part of a back-to-back that also sees Anaheim visit Vegas a day later.

Gustav Lindstrom - Released from PTO Lindstrom was released from his professional tryout agreement with Anaheim on Friday.

Impact Lindstrom joined the Ducks' training camp on a tryout basis after Anaheim declined to present him with a qualifying offer over the summer. He had three goals and 10 points across 46 contests between Montreal and Anaheim in 2023-24. Lindstrom might still be able to get a two-way contract somewhere, but he will probably begin the campaign with that franchise's AHL squad if that happens.

Mark Pysyk - Released from PTO Pysyk was released from his professional tryout agreement by the Ducks on Friday.

Impact Pysyk joined Anaheim on a PTO in mid-September but was unable to earn a spot on the Opening Night roster. He made 37 appearances in the AHL last season, and it wouldn't be surprising to see him play there again this year.

Beckett Sennecke - Assigned to junior team Sennecke was assigned to OHL Oshawa on Friday.

Impact Sennecke recovered from a foot fracture in time to see some preseason action with the Ducks this week, but he'll still head back to his junior team before the NHL regular season gets underway. He made 63 appearances for Oshawa last year and tallied 27 goals and 68 points.

Nikita Nesterenko - Reassigned to AHL Nesterenko was sent to AHL San Diego on Friday.

Impact Nesterenko recorded 16 goals and 37 points across 70 contests with San Diego during the 2023-24 regular season. He also contributed a goal in three games with Anaheim. The 23-year-old is projected to spend a substantial majority of the upcoming campaign in the minors, but he might get another stint in the NHL at some stage of the season.

Nathan Gaucher - Assigned to AHL Gaucher was assigned to AHL San Diego on Friday.

Impact Gaucher dealt with a lower-body injury to begin training camp and the preseason slate, but he played in Wednesday's exhibition matchup against Utah. He'll head to the Gulls for a second consecutive season after logging 10 goals and 25 points over 72 appearances with the club last year. The 20-year-old was the No. 22 overall pick in last year's draft and should factor into the team's long-term plans, but it's unclear whether he'll make his NHL debut this season.

Sam Colangelo - Sent to minors Colangelo was reassigned to AHL San Diego on Friday.

Impact Colangelo had 24 goals and 43 points in 38 appearances with Western Michigan University in 2023-24. He then finished the regular season by scoring a goal in three games with Anaheim as well as a goal and four points across four outings with San Diego. Although Colangelo is set to start the 2024-25 campaign in the minors, it wouldn't be surprising to see him get another shot with the Ducks at some point during the season.

Jansen Harkins - Placed on waivers Friday The Ducks placed Harkins on waivers Friday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Impact This is a bit of a surprise as the Ducks inked Harkins to a two-year contract in the offseason. He had four assists in 45 regular-season games with the Penguins last season and should be sent to the minors, if he clears waivers.

Robby Fabbri - Pots goal Fabbri scored a goal on two shots and added four hits in Wednesday's 5-2 preseason win over Utah.

Impact Fabbri and Tristan Luneau worked into Utah's zone on a 2-on-1, and Fabbri was able to bury the Ducks' fourth goal. The 28-year-old winger had a bounce-back year with 32 points in 68 games with the Red Wings last season. Staying healthy will be the top priority for Fabbri, who has missed at least 10 games in every season of his career. He'll likely open 2024-25 in a middle-six role, and he should be a candidate to see power-play time after earning a career-best 12 points with the man advantage last year.
