Impact Gibson had a 14-31-8 record, 3.99 GAA and .899 save percentage in 53 contests last season. He'll naturally aim to do better in 2023-24, but Vegas, which has already scored eight goals over its first two contests, is one of the toughest opponents for goaltenders.

Impact It's unclear when McGinn sustained the injury. He was sidelined by an upper-body at the end of last season, and the Ducks have yet to play their first regular-season contest in 2023-24. McGinn won't be eligible to return until Oct. 21 versus the Coyotes at the earliest.

Impact Johnston should see a bump in playing time with Anaheim after appearing in just 16 games with the Isles last year -- he picked up two helpers and 37 PIM over that span. Nonetheless, the 29-year-old vet will likely remain a rotational, bottom-six option for the Ducks in 2023-24.

Jackson LaCombe - Scores twice in preseason LaCombe scored two goals on six shots in five preseason contests, adding another assist along the way.
Impact LaCombe comes into the 2023-24 campaign with just two games of NHL experience but appears to have earned himself a spot on the Opening Night roster. Urho Vaakanainen will likely be on the heels of LaCombe all season long to try and pry away a spot in the lineup.

Impact Carlsson was injured during practice and needed to be helped off the ice. There hasn't been much of an update since then but he'll miss at least three games to start the regular season. The 18-year-old should slide right into Anaheim's top-six once he's healthy.

Impact Kassian scored just two goals in 51 games with Arizona last year and will now be a free agent entering the 2023-24 campaign. He has 661 games of NHL experience and could add a veteran presence to a team's bottom-six at some point this season.

If he clears, the 36-year-old netminder can be assigned to AHL San Diego. Lukas Dostal is poised to be Anaheim's backup goalie behind John Gibson to begin the 2023-24 campaign.

Impact Agozzino was acquired from San Jose this offseason after dressing in just four NHL games last year. However, he racked up 26 goals and 61 points in 63 AHL contests. He ccould split time between the AHL and NHL levels during the 2023-24 campaign.

Leo Carlsson - Suffers lower body injury Carlsson (lower body) had to be helped off the ice at practice Friday, according to Felix Sicard of Crash the Pond.
Impact The good news is that the injury isn't as serious as first thought. Carlsson loss an edge during a 1-on-1 drill and went heavily into the end boards. Carlsson was selected second overall in 2023 and has the potential to be an elite forward very quickly in his NHL career. He had three goals and two assists in eight games at the 2023 IIHF World Championship, quite a performance from an 18-year-old. Consider him day-to-day at this time and he could still be ready for Opening Night versus Vegas on Oct. 14.
