Juuso Valimaki - Posts helper in loss Valimaki logged an assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

Impact Valimaki set up a Jason Zucker tally in the first period. This was Valimaki's second point over five contests since he returned from a six-game stint as a healthy scratch. The 25-year-old defenseman has just eight points with 28 shots on net, 40 blocked shots, 26 hits and a minus-2 rating through 35 outings overall. He should stick in the lineup most of the time, but he could be rotated out at times depending on the play of Michael Kesselring and Josh Brown.

Matias Maccelli - Collects helper Maccelli posted an assist in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

Impact Maccelli has gone 10 games without a goal, but he's picked up five assists in that span. The winger continues to play on the second line and second power-play unit, and he was reunited with Nick Bjugstad and Lawson Crouse for this contest with the Coyotes' forward group at essentially full strength. Maccelli has 33 points, 85 shots on net and a minus-4 rating through 49 outings overall.

Nick Schmaltz - Snags helper in loss Schmaltz recorded an assist in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

Impact Schmaltz set up a Clayton Keller tally in the third period. This was Schmaltz's second helper over four games since he returned from an upper-body injury, but he's now gone seven contests without a goal. The 27-year-old winger is up to 30 points, 96 shots on net and a minus-12 rating through 46 appearances this season, playing primarily on the top line.

Jason Zucker - Nets goal Thursday Zucker scored a goal on two shots and added two PIM in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

Impact Zucker tallied at 4:07 of the first period to the cut the deficit to 2-1. That goal snapped a three-game point drought for the winger, who has mainly been in a middle-six role lately. He's up to 18 points, 83 shots on net, 47 hits, 46 PIM and a plus-3 rating through 39 appearances in his first year with the Coyotes.

Clayton Keller - Tallies in loss Keller scored a goal in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

Impact Keller racked up 14 points over 13 games in January and picked up where he left off in the Coyotes' first game back from the All-Star break. The 25-year-old forward's goal in the third period made things interesting, though the Coyotes couldn't complete the comeback. Keller has 21 tallies, 46 points, 147 shots on net and a minus-15 rating through 49 appearances this season in a top-line role.

Karel Vejmelka - Perfect in relief Vejmelka stopped all 28 shots he faced in relief on Connor Ingram in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

Impact Vejmelka had an excellent showing in relief after Ingram gave up three goals on six shots. Prior to Thursday, Vejmelka had allowed at least three goals in five straight outings. The 27-year-old has struggled in 2023-24 with a 6-11-2 record, a 3.33 GAA and a .900 save percentage through 21 outings. With Ingram starting to stumble, Vejmelka's got an opportunity to claim more playing time in the short term.

Connor Ingram - Early exit Thursday Ingram stopped three of six shots in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Golden Knights.

Impact Ingram was nearly tagged for four goals, but one was overturned on a video review. Nonetheless, the 26-year-old was pulled midway through the first period and had to watch from the bench as Karel Vejmelka stopped all 28 shots sent his way. Ingram has been the better of the Coyotes' goalies this year with a 17-12-1 record, a 2.69 GAA and a .914 save percentage through 33 appearances, but this was his third straight loss. That may open the door for Vejmelka to get more starts in the short term.

Barrett Hayton - Returns to action Thursday Hayton (hand) will be back in the lineup versus Vegas on Thursday, according to Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports.

Impact Hayton missed 32 games, after he was hurt in Columbus on Nov. 18. The fifth pick in the 2018 Draft, Hayton had only two goals and four points in 16 games this season. He had career bests in goals and assists last season, finding the back of the net 19 times, while adding 24 helpers.

Adam Ruzicka - Joins new team at practice Ruzicka (not injury related) was on the ice for practice with the Coyotes on Thursday, Patrick Brown of the Coyotes' official site reports.

Impact Ruzicka's presence at practice suggests he has completed the immigration process after being claimed off waivers from the Flames on Jan. 25. Brown adds that Ruzicka is not expected to be in the lineup Thursday versus the Golden Knights, but the 24-year-old should be available to make his Coyotes debut in the near future.
