Karel Vejmelka - Stays sharp in relief outing Vejmelka stopped all 16 shots he faced in relief of Connor Ingram in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Senators.
Impact Vejmelka entered after the Senators' third goal, and he laid a strong foundation for the Coyotes to build their comeback on. The 27-year-old Vejmelka has stopped 44 shots in a row over his last two outings -- he shut out the Sabres on Saturday. The Czech netminder improved to 4-7-2 with a 3.02 GAA and a .903 save percentage through 14 appearances. The Coyotes' next two games are on the road with stops in San Jose on Thursday and Colorado on Saturday, but it's unclear how head coach Andre Tourigny will distribute the work between his goalies heading into the holiday break.

Connor Ingram - Quick hook Tuesday Ingram allowed three goals on six shots in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Senators.
Impact Ingram was pulled after the third goal, and Karel Vejmelka blanked the Senators over the last 45:41 of the contest. There have been few hiccups for Ingram this season, but this was the fourth time in five outings he's given up at least three goals. He was excellent during November, but it appears the increased workload has caught up to him. Ingram is at a 12-6-0 record with a 2.55 GAA and a .919 save percentage through 20 appearances. In fact, Boyd seemed to be a lock to reach the 30-point threshold for the third consecutive campaign and might have even set a new personal best. Instead, the pending unrestricted free agent could have played his last game in the desert.

Overall, Kerfoot is at two goals, 14 helpers, 41 shots on net, 17 hits, 15 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 30 appearances this season.

This victory marked the first for the Czech goaltender since Oct 21 versus Anaheim. Vejmelka will likely concede most of the starts to Ingram for the time being, though if his strong performance continues, he may be able to work himself back into a larger timeshare of the net.
