Joonas Korpisalo - First real wobble of preseason Korpisalo made 22 saves in a 4-1 loss to the Kings on Thursday.
Impact This was Korpisalo's first queasy outing of the preseason, mostly at the hand of a red hot Quinton Byfield who put up a hat trick. Two of Byfield's goals came 25 seconds apart in the second. Korpisalo is the de facto starter in Boston until Jeremy Swayman inks his new deal. Yes, many pundits have said he'll be better inside the Bruins structure than he was in the porous Sens approach last season. But Boston brass needs him to be near perfect with Swayman holding out for a new deal. Korpisalo was far from perfect Thursday.

Impact Poitras missed the end of the 2023-24 season due to a shoulder injury, but he returned to action for the start of the Bruins' development camp at the beginning of July. It's unclear what injury he's dealing with in the closing days of the preseason. Fabian Lysell - Recalled from AHL Lysell was recalled from AHL Providence on Thursday.
Impact The Bruins recalled the 21-year-old to face the Kings in preseason action Thursday. Lysell had 14 goals, 23 assists and 46 PIM in 54 regular-season appearances with AHL Providence in 2023-24. It was his first season in North America, after coming over from Sweden. He was selected 21st overall in the 2021 Draft. Lysell has lots of offensive skill and could make his NHL debut at some point this season.

Jiri Patera - Claimed by Boston Patera was claimed off waivers by the Bruins on Wednesday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.
Impact Patera was waived by the Canucks on Tuesday with the intent of assigning him to the AHL, but he'll join the Bruins ahead of the regular season. He made six regular-season appearances with Vegas last year and posted a 1-3-1 record, 3.97 GAA and .893 save percentage.
