HockeyBuzz.com - Ben Shelley - Hurricanes dominate Bruins for 8-2 victory, extend win streak to five gamesNHL Hockey Trade Rumors
NOVEMBER 1, 2024•HOCKEYBUZZ.COM
Parker Wotherspoon - Stuck in reserve roleWotherspoon has been scratched for nine of the Bruins' first 11 games after sitting out Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Hurricanes.
ImpactGiven the Bruins' recent defensive struggles (13 goals allowed over three games), Wotherspoon may soon get a look in the lineup again. The 27-year-old hasn't done much when he plays, earning two hits, one shot on goal, two PIM and a minus-1 rating over two appearances. Wotherspoon could push Andrew Pekke, Mason Lohrei or Brandon Carlo for a spot in the lineup if the Bruins continue to take up residence in the Atlantic Division basement.

Elias Lindholm - Registers helperLindholm logged an assist and won 14 of 22 faceoffs in Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Hurricanes.
ImpactLindholm began his Boston career with five points over three games, but he turned cold with a seven-game point drought before finding the scoresheet Thursday. The center has six points, 17 shots on net, 21 hits, 17 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 11 appearances. His defensive work will keep him in a top-six role, but Lindholm hasn't displayed enough consistency or chemistry with the Bruins' other top forwards to be fully trusted in fantasy.

Hampus Lindholm - Tallies in blowout lossLindholm scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Hurricanes.
ImpactLindholm ended a five-game point drought with his tally. The 30-year-old defenseman is up to four points, 23 shots on net, 11 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating through 11 appearances. Lindholm has finished with a minus rating in just three seasons in his career -- while his offense isn't always particularly strong, he's an excellent defender, so his struggles this year can at least partially be attributed to the Bruins' team-wide problems.

Brad Marchand - Scores power-play goal in lossMarchand scored a power-play goal on three shots in Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Hurricanes.
ImpactMarchand has three points over his last three games, but he's one of a few Bruins who are being productive on offense. The 36-year-old is at seven points, 29 shots on net, 12 PIM, seven hits and a minus-6 rating through 11 appearances. Boston has started 4-6-1, and while Marchand continues to play a prominent role, his overall numbers may take a hit if the team's performance doesn't improve.

Jalen Chatfield - Holding bottom-four roleChatfield has not recorded a point through the Hurricanes' first nine games of the season.
ImpactWhile Chatfield hasn't chipped in any offense, he has 15 shots on net, 10 hits, seven blocked shots, six PIM and a plus-3 rating. The 28-year-old defenseman is holding down a bottom-four role, averaging 18:12 of ice time. He had 22 points over 72 regular-season contests in 2023-24, which earned him a three-year contract. Chatfield's spot in the lineup is safe with the Hurricanes currently not rostering an extra healthy defenseman.
