Impact He had a hand in two tallies by Tage Thompson (undisclosed) in the first period that put the Sabres in the lead for good. Dahlin has two goals and five points in the last four games, continuing a hot streak that has seen the All-Star defenseman rack up six goals and 13 points in 14 contests over the last month.

Dylan Cozens - Two-point effort Thursday Cozens scored a goal and added an assist in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Senators.

Impact He helped set up John-Jason Peterka for the game's opening tally midway through the first period, and Cozens then capped the scoring with an empty-netter just before the final horn. The performance snapped a brief four-game point drought for Cozens, and the 22-year-old is having trouble regaining his 2022-23 form, scoring seven goals and 22 points in 40 contests this season.

He's won three straight starts, but Luukkonen has been streaky this season -- that surge comes on the heels of an 0-5-1 stretch. The hot and cold spells have mostly balanced out, and through 20 appearances he sports a 9-8-2 record with a 3.01 GAA and .899 save percentage.

Tage Thompson - Can't finish contest Thompson (undisclosed) didn't finish Thursday's game versus the Senators, but head coach Don Granato expected the center to be okay, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports.

Impact Thompson had to leave the ice earlier in the contest, but he was able to return and scored a pair of first-period goals, including one on the power play. It doesn't sound like there's a lot of concern regarding his status. He's up to 14 goals, 27 points, 110 shots on net and a minus-7 rating through 32 appearances this season.
