Impact He had missed practice Friday, but looked solid in 19:06 of ice time. Tuch opened the scoring on the Sabres second shot on goal in the first period. He took a stretch pass from Connor Clifton and went high blocker side with a snap shot from the high slot. It was Tuch's first goal in nine games (one goal, seven assists).

Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen - Best game of NHL career yields win Luukkonen made 40 saves in a 3-1 win over the Penguins on Saturday.

Impact Luukkonen carried a shutout into the third period before finally surrendering a goal on a 5-on-3 power play at 7:49. This game might have been UPL's best in his NHL career so far. He was poised and confident, and he didn't get rattled when a couple of goals scored against him were overturned on coach's challenges. Of course, Luukkonen needs to replicate this effort in order to become a more valuable fantasy asset.

Impact Tuch was at morning practice Saturday after missing Friday's skate. He was ill Thursday but managed to play in Montreal, picking up a pair of assists. The points snapped a four-game drought and gave the winger nine goals and 26 points in 32 games. Tuch will line up alongside Tage Thompson and Jeff Skinner on the top line, and will see first unit power-play time.

Impact Luukkonen picked up the win in his last start -- his first in seven games. Luukkonen is 7-8-2 with a 3.14 GAA and an .892 save percentage, as he has been sharing the net with Devon Levi. The Penguins are in the middle of the pack in NHL scoring, averaging 3.08 goals per game.

Impact Tuch managed a pair of assists Thursday in Montreal, snapping a four-game pointless streak. The winger has nine goals and 26 points in 32 games, playing mostly on the top line with Tage Thompson and Jeff Skinner when all three are healthy. More will be known if Tuch is able to play Saturday in Pittsburgh, especially if he is on the morning flight.

Rasmus Dahlin - Two points in win Dahlin scored an empty-net goal and added a power-play assist in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Canadiens.

Impact The 23-year-old blueliner didn't have a flawless performance however, as it was his giveaway in the second period that led to a Joel Armia shorthanded tally and spoiled Devon Levi's chance at a shutout in front of his hometown Montreal crowd. Dahlin is having another strong offensive season with 11 goals and 31 points in 38 games, but his minus-14 rating is putting a damper on any Norris Trophy talk.

Jack Quinn - Two-point effort in Montreal Quinn produced a goal and an assist in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Canadiens.

Impact Both points came in the third period as Buffalo broke open what had been a 2-1 game heading into the second intermission. It's Quinn's first multi-point performance in seven games since making a belated season debut due to Achilles surgery, but the 22-year-old had made a quick impact with four goals and five points.

Jeff Skinner - Erupts for four points Thursday Skinner scored a power-play goal and added three assists, one with the man advantage, in Thursday's 6-1 win over Montreal.

Impact The 31-year-old had a career-best season in 2022-23 with 82 points in 79 games, but Skinner isn't showing much in the way of regression. Since returning from a three-game absence in December due to an upper-body injury, he's caught fire with four goals and nine points, and he's on pace for his third straight 30-goal campaign. As long as Skinner skates on a line with Tage Thompson and is a key part of the Sabres' first power-play unit, there's little reason to think his production will slack.

Devon Levi - Nabs win over Habs Levi turned aside 32 shots in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Canadiens.

Impact The 22-year-old netminder, born in the Montreal suburb of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, looked sharp in his first career start in front of his hometown crowd, and a shorthanded tally by Joel Armia in the second period was the only blemish on his line. Levi has been solid over the last month, going 5-2-1 in his last nine appearances with a 2.72 GAA and .909 save percentage, and he appears to have a firm grip on the No. 1 job in the Buffalo crease.
