Impact After dipsy-doodling around Filip Gustavsson and tucking the puck home on a breakaway in the final minute of the second period, Skinner helped set up John-Jason Peterka early in the third for what proved to be the winning tally. Skinner has quickly proven that last season's career-best numbers were no fluke, and the 31-year-old winger has followed up that 82-point campaign with seven goals and 13 points in the first 14 games of 2023-24.

Impact The 21-year-old netminder ended up as the game's first star after a strong performance that saw Minnesota only get pucks past Levi on power plays in the first and third periods. Since returning from a lower-body injury at the beginning of the month he's won both his starts, improving his numbers on the season to a 3.18 GAA and .896 save percentage with a 3-3-0 record. The Sabres are rolling for now with a timeshare in net between Levi and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, but it may not be long before the younger goalie regains the No. 1 job.

Impact Power has one goal, seven helpers and a team-high plus-6 rating through 14 contests. He's drawing attention as the No. 1 overall pick from 2021, but at this juncture, casual fantasy managers are more familiar with Rasmus Dahlin, the Sabres' first overall selection in 2018. Devon Levi - In goal Friday Levi will be stationed between the pipes for Friday's home matchup with the Wild, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.

Impact Levi defeated the Maple Leafs on Nov. 4 despite coughing up four goals on 28 shots. It was his first appearance since Oct. 19 after missing seven games with a lower-body issue. The rookie netminder is 2-3-0 with a lackluster .885 save percentage and 3.41 GAA as he battles for playing time with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.

Impact Tuch was considered a game-time call so he likely isn't dealing with anything serious but he will miss his first game of the year. The 27-year-old winger has nine points in his last seven games after tallying just one in his first six contests. Matthew Savoie will make his NHL debut in Tuch's absence.
