Matthew Savoie - Sent to AHL for conditioning Savoie (shoulder) was sent to AHL Rochester on Sunday for a conditioning assignment.
Impact Savoie could see some game action in the minors after getting injured during Buffalo's Prospects Challenge finale against Pittsburgh on Sept. 18. If he doesn't see NHL action after being cleared, he may eventually end up being loaned back to the WHL to play for Wenatchee. The 19-year-old forward amassed 38 goals and 95 points in 62 WHL contests last campaign.

Connor Clifton - Leads team in hits Clifton has a team-leading 16 hits through five games this season.
Impact Clifton, who joined the Sabres in July on a three-year, $10 million contract, still doesn't have a point. He also has eight shots on goal, six blocked shots and a minus-6 rating this campaign. Clifton produced five goals, 23 points, 120 blocked shots and 208 hits in 78 games for Boston last season.

Mattias Samuelsson - First goal a game-winner Samuelsson scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's 3-1 victory over the Islanders.
Impact Samuelsson took a pass from Casey Mittelstadt late in the second period, danced around a defender into the high slot, and wired the pack past Semyon Varlamov. It was the 23-year-old blueliner's first goal of the season and just the third of his NHL career. Casey Mittelstadt - Apple season continues Mittelstadt picked up two assists Saturday in a 3-1 win over the Islanders.
Impact Mittelstadt has four points, including three assists, in his last four games. The eighth overall pick from 2018 finally showed his potential last season with 59 points, including 44 assists, in 82 games. In 2023-24, he's picked up right from where he left off. Mittelstadt is a solid enough fantasy play in the right format, but he won't contribute much to faceoff, shot or hit totals.

Eric Comrie - So close to a shutout Comrie made 24 saves in a 3-1 win over the Islanders on Saturday.
Impact It was his first start of the season, and he was dialed in -- Comrie came within 1:21 of a shutout. Noah Dobson sent a point shot toward him that deflected off Sabres defender Connor Clifton and into the net. Comrie played well enough to earn another start, but with a crowded net, the Sabres may opt to get Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen his first start when they play Montreal at home on Monday.

Impact The 35-goal man from last season put the Sabres up 1-0 late on the second period. Casey Mittelstadt forced a turnover along the wall, took the puck to the slot and dished to Skinner at the bottom of the right circle. It's Skinner's second of the season, and he has three points in his last three games. The 31-year-old has topped the 30-goal mark on six occasions during his career, and there's nothing to suggest he won't hit the same height again in 2023-24.
