Rasmus Andersson - Hearing scheduled for elbowing Andersson will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Play Safety on Saturday after elbowing the Blue Jackets' Patrik Laine in the head Friday.
Impact Andersson was assessed a major penalty at the end of the third period for the elbow. Laine is currently day-to-day and will miss Saturday's tilt in Minnesota. The Flames do not play until Sunday, but don't expect to see Andersson in the lineup, as a suspension is looming.

Mikael Backlund - Gets on board with assist Backlund picked up an assist in Friday's 3-1 road loss against the Blue Jackets.
Impact Backlund was blanked in the first four games, posting a minus-1 rating and 14 shots on goal. He snapped his scoreless skid with the assist, which came on a shorthanded goal by Elias Lindholm midway through the third period. The 34-year-old Backlund registered a career-high 56 points last season, so he still has plenty left in the tank. He and his team are back at it Sunday against the Red Wings.

Impact Lindholm accounted for the only scoring for the visitors, ending up with a minus-1 rating, six shots on goal and a blocked shot in his 21:14 of ice time. He won eight of his 18 faceoff attempts (44.4 percent), too. Lindholm has at least one point in four of five games so far. He'll look to keep it going Sunday in Detroit.

Impact Andersson crushed Patrik Laine in open ice, appearing to leave the ice while making contact with the head of the player. It's likely Andersson will be hearing from the NHL's Department of Player Safety after that one. He was scoreless with a minus-3 rating and four blocked shots in his 25:05 of ice time.

Jacob Markstrom - Receives little offensive support Markstrom kicked aside 26 of the 28 shots he faced in Friday's 3-1 road loss against the Blue Jackets.
Impact Markstrom allowed just two goals for the second consecutive start, but he has no wins to show for his efforts. He is now 0-2-1 across the past three outings despite a respectable 2.66 GAA and .899 save percentage. The Flames are back at it Sunday afternoon on the road against the Red Wings.
