Impact Head coach Pete DeBoer said Monday that Oettinger's test results revealed that the 25-year-old netminder isn't expected to be dealing with a long-term injury. Still, it's a tough situation for the Stars and for Oettinger's fantasy managers to have him unavailable for next little while. Scott Wedgewood, who should see the bulk of the starts in Oettinger's absence, will be backed up by Matt Murray in Monday's contest against Seattle.

Impact Wedgewood is expected to be backed up by Matt Murray with Jake Oettinger (lower body) dealing with an injury. As such, the veteran Wedgewood will likely continue to see plenty of starts for the time being. For his part, the Ontario native is undefeated in regulation in his last seven outings, posting a 5-0-2 record and 3.16 GAA.

Impact The Stars had Joe O'Brien, who agreed to an amateur tryout agreement with the team, serve as Scott Wedgewood's backup in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to St. Louis. O'Brien was released Sunday, so Dallas was able to add Murray under the roster emergency exception rule ahead of Monday's matchup against Seattle. Murray has posted a 1-2-0 record with a 3.39 GAA and an .844 save percentage in three NHL starts with the Stars last season. He's been an excellent fit in his first season with the Stars, and it's possible he could challenge for the 70-point mark for the fourth time in his career.

Impact Wedgewood stopped 25 of 27 shots in Friday's 5-4 win over Ottawa on Friday after Jake Oettinger (lower body) was injured. Oettinger won't be in the lineup Saturday, so Wedgewood might have Joe O'Brien serve as his emergency backup. Wedgewood has posted a 6-1-1 record this season with a 3.15 GAA and a .907 save percentage in eight appearances. The Blues rank 26th in the league this campaign with 2.86 goals per contest.
