ImpactPesce made a pass to Vincent Trocheck, who then set up Jordan Martinook for the tally. The 26-year-old Pesce has picked up six assists in his last eight games. For the year, the blueliner has reached the 20-point mark in 37 contests. It's the third time in his six-year career he's reached that level -- were it not for the shortened campaign, he'd probably post career-best numbers at the end of the season.

ImpactMartinook got behind the Stars' defense on a pass from Vincent Trocheck, and beat goalie Jake Oettinger for the only goal Sunday. It was Martinook's second tally of the year. The 28-year-old winger has 10 points, 42 shots on net, 62 hits and a minus-6 rating through 34 contests. He saw second-line minutes Sunday, but the Manitoba native has mostly worked in bottom-six assignments this year.

ImpactMrazek showed virtually no rust despite missing over two months while recovering from surgery on his thumb. Despite Sunday being just his fifth appearance this season, he's already racked up three shutouts. Mrazek has allowed just three goals on 94 shots this season. He may still be eased into action, as the Hurricanes received good goaltending from both James Reimer and Alex Nedeljkovic in Mrazek's lengthy absence.

Anton Khudobin cleared the NHL's COVID-19 protocol Sunday, so the Stars will have their top two healthy goalies available to start Tuesday in Chicago.
