Notches helper in winPesce posted an assist, three shots on goal and two hits in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Stars.
ImpactPesce made a pass to Vincent Trocheck, who then set up Jordan Martinook for the tally. The 26-year-old Pesce has picked up six assists in his last eight games. For the year, the blueliner has reached the 20-point mark in 37 contests. It's the third time in his six-year career he's reached that level -- were it not for the shortened campaign, he'd probably post career-best numbers at the end of the season.

Points in 10 straight appearancesTrocheck notched an assist, three shots on goal and four hits in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Stars.
ImpactTrocheck set up Jordan Martinook for the lone tally in Sunday's game. In his last 10 appearances, Trocheck has five goals and eight assists, but he missed eight games due to an upper-body injury in the middle of his hot run. The 27-year-old center has collected 14 goals, 29 points, 81 shots on net, 53 hits and a plus-4 rating through 28 contests.

Buries lone goal in winMartinook scored a goal on four shots and added seven hits in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Stars.
ImpactMartinook got behind the Stars' defense on a pass from Vincent Trocheck, and beat goalie Jake Oettinger for the only goal Sunday. It was Martinook's second tally of the year. The 28-year-old winger has 10 points, 42 shots on net, 62 hits and a minus-6 rating through 34 contests. He saw second-line minutes Sunday, but the Manitoba native has mostly worked in bottom-six assignments this year.

Posts shutout in returnMrazek (thumb) posted a 28-save shutout in Sunday's 1-0 win over the Stars.
ImpactMrazek showed virtually no rust despite missing over two months while recovering from surgery on his thumb. Despite Sunday being just his fifth appearance this season, he's already racked up three shutouts. Mrazek has allowed just three goals on 94 shots this season. He may still be eased into action, as the Hurricanes received good goaltending from both James Reimer and Alex Nedeljkovic in Mrazek's lengthy absence.

Bested in goalie duelOettinger stopped 37 of 38 shots in Sunday's 1-0 loss to the Hurricanes.
ImpactOettinger was nearly perfect Sunday, but Jordan Martinook's lone tally 40 seconds into the second period decided the game. It's an impressive performance and an unlucky loss for Oettinger, who split the weekend's two game set in Raleigh. His record is 6-4-6 with a 2.24 GAA and a .918 save percentage through 19 contests. Anton Khudobin cleared the NHL's COVID-19 protocol Sunday, so the Stars will have their top two healthy goalies available to start Tuesday in Chicago.
