Jake Allen - Facing Toronto on Wednesday Allen will patrol the road crease against Toronto on Wednesday, according to Anthony Martineau of TVA Sports.
Impact Allen posted a 15-24-3 record last season with a 3.55 GAA, one shutout and an .891 save percentage in 42 appearances. He went 1-1-0 versus the Maple Leafs in 2022-23, stopping 65 of 73 shots.

Impact The Canadiens placed Armia on waivers Sunday, and not surprisingly, no team claimed the 30-year-old forward with two seasons remaining on his contract with an annual cap hit of $3.4 million. It's expected the team will send the veteran to AHL Laval.

Josh Anderson - Will open on top line Anderson will work the right wing of Montreal's top line when the season begins Wednesday in Toronto, Stu Cowan of the Montreal Gazette reports.
Impact Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis auditioned several players for the primo spot along with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield but eventually settled on Anderson. The coach was pleased with what he saw in Anderson, who scored a goal in each of the three preseason games he played. This trio played together at times last season, but St. Louis never settled on a permanent third forward for the first line.

Impact Dvorak will miss all of October as he recovers from knee surgery. The 27-year-old scored 28 points in 64 games before the season-ending injury in March. An update on his timeline should be available near the end of the month.

Gustav Lindstrom - Lands on waivers Lindstrom was placed on waivers by the Canadiens on Sunday.
