Samuel Ersson - Strong performance in loss Ersson made 28 saves in a 4-2 loss to Nashville on Thursday. He allowed three goals.

Impact Ersson has been on a tear lately with Carter Hart sidelined with illness. He's 3-1-1 with one shutout in his last five starts (Dec. 12-21) and with just 11 goals allowed. After allowing 12 goals in his first two games to start the season, Ersson has dug in and hasn't allowed more than three in a game the rest of the way. So his .899 save percentage is yanked down because of those two bad games. But when you look under the hood, Ersson might be the future in the Flyers net. Keeper and dynasty managers would be wise to inquire about his services before his manager figures out that his game has taken a leap.

Impact Petersen's promotion could be an indication that Carter Hart (illness) won't be ready to serve as the backup to Samuel Ersson against the Predators on Thursday. The Flyers are entering a back-to-back, which means Petersen could be pressed into service versus the Red Wings on Friday if Hart is still unable to play.

Samuel Ersson - Gets fourth straight start Ersson will be between the home pipes versus Nashville on Thursday, according to Sam Carchidi of Philly Hockey Now.

Impact Carter Hart is not completely over his illness, allowing Ersson to remain between the pipes. Coach John Tortorella said that he hasn't decided between Hart and Cal Petersen as to who will be the backup against the Predators. Ersson is 8-3-2 with a 2.51 GAA and an .899 save percentage this season and is 7-0-1 in his last eight games. Nashville is 17th in NHL scoring, averaging 3.13 goals per game.
