Yanked after one frame Ersson was removed after allowing three goals on 12 shots in the first period of a 6-2 loss to Toronto on Thursday.

Impact He played the first period, but was stapled to the bench to start the second. The Leafs had come at Ersson in waves in the frame, and their three goals were the NHL's best eighth time the Leafs had scored at least three first-period goals. Ersson may be wearing down after a strong start to the season. He is 4-5-2 in the last month (11 starts) with 30 goals allowed. Overall, his save percentage has dropped to .898.

Impact Ersson was solid in his last start on Tuesday against San Jose, stopping 27 of 29 shots in a 3-2 win. The 24-year-old has registered an .899 save percentage and a 19-13-5 record. He will have a tough test tonight against Toronto who is 19-7-6 on the road.

Impact It was a strong bounce-back outing from Ersson after he gave up four goals on just 15 shots in a loss to Tampa Bay in his previous start. The 24-year-old netminder held the Sharks to just a pair of power-play tallies Tuesday as he improved to 19-13-5 with an .899 save percentage and 2.61 GAA on the season. Ersson has started 15 of Philadelphia's last 18 games and he'll likely be back between the pipes Thursday when the Flyers host Toronto.

Gets nod Tuesday Ersson will be guarding the home crease against the Sharks on Tuesday, per Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Impact Ersson was pulled in his last start on Saturday against the Lightning, allowing four goals on 15 shots. The 24-year-old has recorded an .898 save percentage with an 18-13-5 record. He will have a favorable matchup against San Jose who is 5-19-3 on the road.

Yanked in first period Ersson gave up four goals on 15 shots and was pulled in the first period of Saturday's 7-0 loss to the Lightning.

Impact The floodgates opened on Ersson just 1:49 into the game when Victor Hedman undressed him on a quick shot from the high slot. He's 2-3-1 in his last six starts, but he has allowed two or fewer goals in his last six starts. Ersson has taken on a massive workload with Carter Hart (undisclosed) out, and it could be taking it's toll.

Facing Lightning Ersson will defend the road crease in Tampa Bay on Saturday, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports.

Impact Ersson has been great over the last six games, going 3-2-1 with a sensational 1.99 GAA and a .917 save percentage. Ersson is 18-12-5 for the surprising Flyers. The Lightning are in a battle for the final two wild card spots in the Eastern Conference with the Flyers, Detroit and the Islanders, so this is an important matchup for both teams.

Sharp in win over Florida Ersson turned aside 29 shots in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Panthers.

Impact Gustav Forsling snuck a shot past him through heavy traffic in the second period, but otherwise Ersson had an answer for everything Florida fired at him. The 24-year-old netminder has allowed two goals or less in five of his last six starts, a stretch in which he's posted a 1.99 GAA and .917 save percentage with a 3-2-1 record, and Ersson needs two more victories for his first career 20-win campaign.

Slated to face Panthers Ersson is expected to start on the road against Florida on Thursday.

Impact Ersson has a 17-12-5 record, 2.57 GAA and .899 save percentage in 35 appearances in 2023-24. He saved 24 of 25 shots in a 2-1 shootout loss to St. Louis in his last start Monday. Florida, which ranks eighth offensively with 3.32 goals per game, figures to be a challenging adversary for Ersson.

Impact Ersson continues his dramatic up-and-down play with Monday's .960 save percentage. It's hard to know if you'll get a performance like he gave against the Blues or if it'll be more like the prior game when he allowed five goals on 21 shots. In four of the last nine games, he's been at an .872 save percentage or below. In the other five starts, he's been at .909 or above. It's a roller coaster.

In goal Monday Ersson will get the starting nod against the Blues at home Monday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Impact Ersson has conceded three or more goals in four of his last seven outings, registering a combined 3-3-1 record and 3.17 GAA over that stretch. Still, the netminder should continue to see the majority of the workload considering the Flyers don't have much in the way of alternatives between either Felix Sandstrom and Cal Petersen.

Crumbles against Caps Ersson turned aside 16 shots in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Capitals.

Impact The Flyers took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission, but their defense fell apart over the final 40 minutes and Ersson wasn't able to weather the storm. It's the third time in his last six starts the 24-year-old goalie has allowed four goals or more, a stretch in which he's gone 2-3-1 with a 3.19 GAA and .878 save percentage. With Philly back in action Saturday against Ottawa, Felix Sandstrom seems likely to get the nod between the pipes.

Guarding cage Friday Ersson will get the starting nod in Washington on Friday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.

Impact In his last outing, Ersson stopped 20 of 22 shots while defeating the Lightning. He's allowed two or fewer goals in three straight appearances after coughing up a combined nine goals in his previous two games. Since the start of January, the 24-year-old is 8-6-2 with an .899 save percentage.

Impact Ersson faced only 22 shots over the full contest, but he still earned his 17th win of the season and the 23rd of his young career. He had to be sharp for most of the game - he finished with a .909 save percentage - as it was close until the Flyers scored three unanswered goals on Andrei Vasilevskiy to start the third period. Ersson has become the defacto No. 1 goalie for the Flyers as he's played in 14 of their last 16 games with six wins during that span. Be aware that the Flyers' overall record may not be ideal for his fantasy value.

Taking on Tampa Bay Ersson will patrol the home crease versus the Lightning on Tuesday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Impact Ersson was pretty solid in his last start Saturday against the Rangers, stopping 22 of 24 shots, but he still came away with a loss due to a lack of goal support from his teammates. He'll try to get back in the win column in a home matchup with a Tampa Bay team that's averaging 3.00 goals on the road this season, 22nd in the NHL.

Solid in loss Ersson made 22 saves in a 2-1 loss to the Rangers on Saturday.

Impact Alexis Lafreniere beat him five-hole from the top of the left circle during a 4-on-4 in the second period. And Matt Rempe had a shot hit his leg while he was parked in front of the net and deflect in during the third. Ersson is 4-2-1 in seven games during February. He started that run with two wins and just two goals allowed, and he has allowed only three in his most-recent two games. But in three games in between, Ersson allowed 12 goals. He has been pressed into a heavy workload with Carter Hart (personal) sidelined, and he's performed remarkably well given he'd had just 10 starts and 12 games played prior to this season.

Guarding goal Saturday Ersson will protect the home crease Saturday against the Rangers.

Impact Ersson is coming off a 21-save performance in Wednesday's 3-1 win over Chicago. Through 31 games played this season, he has earned a 16-10-4 record with three shutouts, a 2.58 GAA and a .900 save percentage. The Rangers rank eighth in the league with 3.37 goals per contest this campaign.
