Carl Grundstrom - Pens two-year contract Grundstrom signed a two-year, $3.6 million contract with the Sharks on Thursday.
Impact Grundstrom was dealt to San Jose from the Kings on June 27 in exchange for Kyle Burroughs. The 26-year-old had eight goals, four assists and 115 hits in 50 regular-season appearances in 2023-24. Look for Grundstrom to play as a bottom-six forward in 2024-25.

Ty Dellandrea - Inks two-year extension Dellandrea signed a two-year, $2.6 million contract with the Sharks on Thursday, per PuckPedia.
Impact Dellandrea was dealt to San Jose from Dallas on June 19 for a 2025 fourth-round pick. The 13th pick in the 2018 Draft by the Stars, Dellandrea played in only 42 regular-season games in 2023-24, due to injuries and healthy scratches. He managed two goals and nine points, as well as a goal in six postseason games. Dellandrea will get a new start with the Sharks and will likely find himself battling for a role as a bottom-six forward in training camp.

Impact Afanasyev was a second-round pick by Nashville in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and was traded to the Sharks this offseason. He spent most of the last three years with AHL Milwaukee and scored 54 points in 65 AHL games during the 2023-24 season. He has one goal in 19 career NHL contests.

Vitek Vanecek - Should be fine for training camp Vanecek (lower body) should be ready for the start of training camp, per Max Miller of The Hockey News on Monday.
Impact Vanecek had a 17-9-3 record, 3.18 GAA and .890 save percentage in 32 contests with New Jersey last season. The Sharks acquired him in March, but he hasn't made his debut with San Jose due to the injury. Vanecek is set to compete with Mackenzie Blackwood for the starting job in 2024-25.

The 29-year-old center looks poised to slot into a third-line role but could also be shifted to wing if the Sharks want to keep youngster Will Smith in his natural position.

Tyler Toffoli - Pens four-year contract Toffoli inked a four-year, $24 million deal with San Jose on Monday, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports.
Impact Toffoli has played for five different organizations over the last five seasons but will now return to Southern California, this time with the Sharks. In his 79 regular-season outings with the Devils and Jets last season, the veteran winger compiled 33 goals and 22 helpers. It was the second straight season in which Toffoli was able to reach the 30-goal mark, a threshold he should be capable of reaching in a top-six role with San Jose.

Filip Zadina - Hitting free agency Zadina (lower body) will become an unrestricted free agent Monday after not receiving a qualifying offer from the Sharks, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Impact Detroit selected Zadina with the sixth overall pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft but he never really found his footing at the top level. He's totaled 41 goals and 91 points in 262 career NHL appearances. The 24-year-old winger scored 13 goals and 23 points with a minus-44 rating in 72 games last season.

Impact Studnicka appeared in 22 games with Vancouver and San Jose last season but was held to just one goal. He also totaled 21 points in 36 AHL contests. The 25-year-old forward has scored just 16 points in 107 career NHL games.

Impact Peterson was held without a point in six NHL games last season and scored 22 points in 40 AHL appearances. He has 83 games of NHL experience but 65 of those came during the 2021-22 campaign with Dallas.
