The 24-year-old winger has played in a bottom-six role this season, and it's not a great sign that he saw just 11:39 of ice time despite the Blues dressing only 11 forwards Thursday. He's at two helpers, six shots on net, nine hits, five blocked shots, four PIM and a plus-1 rating through six outings overall.

Impact Hayes has struggled early in the season, logging two assists through his first six outings with the Blues. He was on the third line Thursday in an 11-forward, seven-defensemen lineup. The 31-year-old's non-scoring numbers haven't been particularly useful either -- he's at four shots on net, three hits, one blocked shots, a plus-2 rating and two PIM. With a lackluster role on a low-scoring team, Hayes is likely best left on the waiver wire in fantasy.

Impact Hofer had a 3-1-1 record, 3.22 GAA and .905 save percentage in six contests last season. He has appeared in one game this campaign, stopping 36 of 42 shots in last Thursday's 6-2 loss to Arizona. Impact Thomas helped slice the Jets' lead to 3-2 at 16:37 of the third period, but St. Louis just couldn't get over the hump. He also chipped in with two shots on goal, a blocked shot and an outstanding 12-for-16 night (75.0 percent) at the faceoff dot. Around 20 goals and 70 points should once again be achievable for Thomas in 2023-24.

Impact Binnington gave his team a chance to win, with the teams playing to a scoreless tie through 20 minutes. The Jets scored two quick goals early in the second period, but the Blues fought back to make it 2-1 near the end of the frame, and 3-2 late in the third. With a couple of bounces the other way, things could have ended differently. As long as the wheels don't fall off, Binnington should continue to see the majority of starts with the unproven Joel Hofer occasionally spelling him in 2023-24.
