Jack Drury - Collects PP helper SaturdayDrury notched a power-play assist in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Blues.
ImpactDrury got off to an extremely slow start this season with just a single assist in his first 15 games. Since then, he's rebounded nicely with 16 points (6G, 10A) in his last 25. With Martin Necas out with an upper-body injury, Drury has been bumped up to a top-six role, currently playing on the second line with Michael Bunting and Jesperi Kotkaniemi. If you're looking for a sneaky scoring upgrade for your fantasy roster, he's worth a look.

Vasily Ponomarev - Sent down to minorsPonomarev was loaned to AHL Chicago on Sunday.
ImpactPonomarev notched one goal and one assist during his NHL debut Friday in a 6-2 win over Washington. He was held off the scoresheet in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to St. Louis. Ponomarev has racked up six goals and 20 points in 22 AHL contests this campaign.

Jordan Binnington - Gets shootout winBinnington kicked out 29 of 30 shots in a 2-1 shootout win over the Hurricanes on Saturday.
ImpactBinnington allowed a power-play goal 13:17 into the first period on a hard shot by Teuvo Teravainen but was unbeatable after that. He turned away a total of 29 shots, including two in overtime, to finish with a .967 save percentage to hold on to the win in the shootout. Binnington has been hot as of late, allowing only one goal in each of his last three starts. Even though he has been splitting time with Joel Hofer recently, look for him to get more starts in net in the near future as when he started five straight games in December.

Antti Raanta - Loses low-scoring game in shootoutRaanta stopped 21 of 22 shots in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Blues.
ImpactAlthough Raanta ended up in the loss column, he was sharp all night. He allowed only one goal early in the first period on a breakaway by Nathan Walker and the Blues could not solve him until the eventual loss in the shootout. Raanta has only played four games since allowing eight goals against the Lightning on November 24. This was a bright spot for Raanta as he was placed on waivers in December and has been severely outplayed by Pyotr Kochetkov since the injury to Frederik Anderson. The 34-year old Raanta looks to catch some momentum as he competes for more starts in net for the Hurricanes.

Stefan Noesen - Returns to the lineupNoesen returns to the lineup in Saturday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Blues.
ImpactNoesen played an uneventful game against the Blues with no hits, no PIM and only two shots on net. He played only 7:25 minutes of ice time, essentially half of what he has played over the past month. Noesen was on the ice for the only goal allowed and ended up with a minus-1 rating. The 30-year old forward looks to bounce back against the Ducks on Thursday but will most likely continue to play a bottom-six role without any power-play time.

Nathan Walker - Scores first goal of the seasonWalker opens the scoring in Saturday's 2-1 shootout win over the Hurricanes.
ImpactWalker was called up from the AHL on New Year's Day, was a healthy scratch on Thursday and was able to dress on Saturday against the Hurricanes. He took advantage of his opportunity. While Walker played the least amount of minutes amongst all skaters, he scored a breakaway goal on Antti Raanta 11:04 into the first period to open the scoring. This proved to be enough for the Blues to go into overtime and eventually win in a shootout. Walker looks to stick with the big club after a plus-1 rating, 7:28 of ice time and two shots on net.
JANUARY 7ā€¢ROTOWIRE
Teuvo Teravainen - Supplies only goal in lossTeravainen recorded a power-play goal in Saturday's 2-1 loss against the Blues.
ImpactTeravainen scored his 14th goal of the season on the power play on his only shot on net. This tied up the score in the first period but the Hurricanes could not solve Jordan Binnington for the rest of the game until eventually losing in a shootout. This was a relief for Teravainen and the Hurricanes as he was on a five-game goal drought and did not see any power-play time on Friday against the Capitals. He did continue on the first line with Andrei Svechnikov and Sebastian Aho and had 19:13 minutes of ice time so it is a good sign that Rod Brind'Amour has not decided to demote him yet.
