Sheraldo Becker - Scoring drought ends Becker scored one goal on three shots (two on target), sent in six crosses and added one corner during Wednesday's 2-2 draw with FC Augsburg.

Impact Becker beat the keeper with a difficult strike to the bottom left during the seventh minute of this contest to open the scoring and give his side a 1-0 lead. The goal was assisted by Paul Seguin. His six crosses were also third most of any player on the pitch Wednesday. He was relieved for a fresh set of legs in the 77th by Sven Michel.

Andras Schafer - Undergoes surgery Schafer successfully underwent surgery on his foot injury, he announced Tuesday.

Impact Schafer had started 10 times in 16 appearances until missing Sunday's 5-0 loss to Bayer Leverkusen due to an injury picked up in the UEL against Royale USG. Thanks to the World Cup and German winter breaks, Schafer has the better part of two months to work on his fitness. In his absence Morten Thorsby, Rani Khedira and Janik Haberer are a solid midfield trio.

Impact Grill made his second Bundesliga start and stopped just three of the eight shots he faced. It's hard to put this loss on Grill, who wasn't bad, but was left hung out to dry by a sloppy defense. Grill has a strong starting job behind a previously stingy Union Berlin defense, so it's possible this was the exception, not the rule, moving forward.
