Jonas Hofmann - Suffers dislocated shoulder Hofmann suffered a dislocated shoulder during Tuesday's DFB Pokal loss, his club announced Wednesday. He's expected to be back in time for the World Cup.

Impact Hofmann might be out for the next month but he's still expected to be back by the time he'd be called up for the mid-season World Cup. With three goals and two assists in 10 starts on the right flank, Lars Stindl or young signing Nathan N'Goumou could take on some of Hofmann's minutes until his return.

Yann Sommer - Forced off with rolled ankle Sommer was forced off in the first half of Tuesday's DFB Pokal clash with Darmstadt after falling awkwardly on his ankle.

Impact Sommer rolled his ankle while going to play a cross and was limping when he was brought off. This is an awful turn for Gladbach, and Sommer, who has been one of the top goalkeepers in Germany. Tobias Sippel came in to replace Sommer, and would get the starts in his place. The Gladbach defense has been inconsistent, though trending positively, giving Sippel some value in easier matches. Sommer will be a heavy doubt for Saturday's clash with Frankfurt.

Impact Sommer made two saves during Saturday's draw as a run of poor form continues for the keeper. The goalkeeper opened the season in red-hot form facing absurd volume, highlighted by 19 saves in a one-all draw with Bayern Munich but has since slowed down in the three previous matches, conceding nine goals and making seven saves. The good news is the Gladbach defense has seemingly improved, and could give Sommer some strong clean sheet odds moving forward.
