Impact Scally might be worried after going down late into a relatively safe result, so he'll hope that nothing serious happened which could keep him from contention for a place with the United States for the World Cup. If he's unfit for Saturday's match against Wolfsburg, Stefan Lainer would take over as the starter at right-back.

Ko Itakura - Hasn't returned to training Itakura (knee) was not training with Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday as he continues his recovery from a partial MCL tear.

Impact Itakura hasn't played in almost a month after injuring his knee in training in September, and he'll be a doubt for Sunday's clash against FC Koln. Marvin Friedrich has mostly taken over for him alongside Nico Elvedi in central defense after Christoph Kramer was pushed further upfield.

The initial diagnoses was thought to require about a month of recovery time, so he's still on schedule as of now. Christoph Kramer (undisclosed) has been starting in attacking midfield for Gladbach in his absence.

Yann Sommer - Four saves in rout Sommer made four saves and had one tackle (zero won) and one clearance in Saturday's 5-1 loss against Werder Bremen.

Impact Sommer faced nine shots from the newly-promoted Bremen side and wasn't able to do quite enough to shut them down. It was a horrific showing from the Gladbach defense and midfield and it was Sommer who took the brunt of the punishment. This type of blow up result has been coming for Sommer and Gladbach, after facing 34 shots in the last four matches and Sommer somehow holding that volume to just two goals conceded. Unless Gladbach can figure out their midfield and defensive woes this could be another very long season for Sommer, who will likely be forced into well over 100 saves yet again.

Impact Kramer came off in the 83rd minute and the injury didn't seem overly serious. Still it's worth keeping an eye on the attacking midfielder ahead of a Sunday clash with a high-flying Koln side. If Kramer is unable to go it could be Kouadio Kone in a more attacking role.

Impact Stindl provided his second assist in as many matches during Saturday's shock defeat. The attacking midfielder has been excellent since his return to injury and is one of the few bright spots to take away from Saturday's loss. Stindl will hope to keep the volume and production going as Gladbach look to bounce back from this unlikely defeat.
