Christoph Kramer - Falls out of starting XI Kramer made 18 appearances (seven starts) during the 2021/22 Bundesliga campaign.

Impact Kramer well-and-truly fell out of the starting XI in 2021/22. The midfielder dealt with COVID-19 as well as a muscular injury, which didn't help, but even when fit he simply wasn't picked in the starting XI. Kramer only made two starts in the final four months of the season, and will likely have to work with a reduced role moving forward with Gladbach.

Stefan Lainer - Hampered by ankle Lainer made 21 appearances and 19 starts scoring one goal during the 2021/22 Bundesliga season.

Impact Lainer was on the pitch whenever he was healthy, though an ankle injury knocked him out through most of the winter. The defender continues to be a stalwart part of the Gladbach defense and has lined up at right-back and right midfield. Lainer should be right back in the fold for the 2022/23 campaign.

Alassane Plea - Sixteen goal contributions Plea scored 10 goals and provided six assist during 33 appearances in the 2021/22 Bundesliga season.

Impact Plea played less than 2,000 minutes once again, the second season in a row he has done so. Despite that the forward scored 10 goals, the most he's scored since 2019/20, while also adding six assists. Plea has competition and a strike partner in Breel Embolo, but continues to score and produce at a solid rate. Plea will be a strong fantasy play leading the line for Gladbach for the foreseeable future.

Yann Sommer - Starts all but one match Sommer made 33 starts, keeping 122 saves and four clean sheets during the 2021/22 Bundesliga season.

Impact Sommer was the clear top choice for Gladbach once more as he once again got a nearly full workload in over the season. He missed the penultimate match of the campaign, but came back strong in the final match of the season, a 5-1 win over Hoffenheim. Sommer will likely be the top keeper once more for Gladbach in 2022/23.

Luca Netz - Sends in four crosses in win Netz created two chances, sent in four crosses (three accurate) and made two interceptions during Saturday's 5-1 win over Hoffenheim.

Impact Netz had another solid performance on the offensive end, creating from the flank whenever he found room to go up the field. The youngster started the last four matches of the campaign for Gladbach and everything indicates we'll see an expanded role and a significative leap on the level of play he shows next season.

Yann Sommer - Concedes one in win Sommer made one save and conceded one goal during Saturday's 5-1 win over Hoffenheim.

Impact Sommer was back in the net after missing the previous match and was beaten with just three minutes into the game. He didn't have much to do during the rest of the way, which meant few opportunities to offset the goal allowed with saves. The goalkeeper had his worst season from a fantasy perspective since joining Borussia and will hope to bounce back during next campaign.

Impact Embolo finished his campaign in style, beautifully chipping the ball over the goalkeeper to score his side's fourth goal after picking up a brilliant through ball in the 53th minute. The forward scored five of his nine league goals over his last seven starts and everything leads us to believe he'll be featured in a prominent role next season.

Impact Neuhaus excelled the few times he had to provide defensive help and found a lot of room to support the attacking end, leading all players in chances created, which included the assist for Jonas Hofmann to score Gladbach's third goal. With four goals and four assists over 29 appearances, Neuhaus finished his campaign with great numbers for a defensive midfielder and everything indicates he should have a similar, if not expanded, role in an always strong Borussia side next season.

Impact Hofmann had a man-of-the-match performance here, showing great speed and control to score his side's third goal, assisting Breel Embolo for the fourth and then finding the back of the net once again to seal the 5-1 win for Gladbach. The playmaker finished his campaign with 12 goals and five assists over 26 appearances, including four goals and three assists over the last five starts.

Ginter has been the top central defensive option for Gladbach during his five season at the club and is one of the best in the Bundesliga. Despite that he is a limited fantasy option due to his role in the team.
