Stefan Lainer - Assists against Koln Lainer had an assist with his lone chance created while crossing twice (one accurate) during Saturday's 3-3 draw with Koln.

Impact Lainer entered the match in the 62nd minute and set up Robin Hack in the 71st for Gladbach's second goal. Lainer had started back-to-back matches prior to Saturday's fixture with the assist being his first goal involvement of the season.

Joe Scally - Snaps goal involvement drought Scally had an assist while crossing six times (one accurate) and creating two chances during Saturday's 3-3 draw with Koln.

Impact Scally set up Robin Hack in the 73rd minute assisting Gladbach's third and final goal. The assist was Scally's first goal involvement since November as he's created three chances and crossed nine times over his last three league starts.

Moritz Nicolas - Beaten three times by Koln Nicolas allowed three goals while making two saves during Saturday's 3-3 draw with Koln.

Impact Nicolas allowed a goal in the first half and two in the second, but was backed with three goals as Gladbach came away from Saturday's match with a point. The keeper has allowed six goals while making eight saves over his last three league starts.

Impact Cvancara isn't likely to return before the international break due to the serious ankle injury he suffered previously. The forward will likely miss at least two more matches, but depending on his recovery there's a good chance he won't be ready to return directly after the break.

Florian Neuhaus - Registers first assist of season Neuhaus assisted once to go with two shots (one on goal), one cross (one accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Mainz.

Impact Neuhaus registered his first assist of the season, as he set up Nathan Ngoumou for a header from the center of the box to tie the score at 1-1, in the 55th minute of play. Aside from being sidelined for one game, this marked the fifth consecutive start for Neuhaus, who has now registered at least one shot in each of those outings and is up to a total of 11 shots, including five shots on target over that span.

Nico Elvedi - Back from suspension Elvedi completed his one-game suspension and will be eligible to face Mainz on Saturday.

Impact Elvedi missed the 2-0 away loss at Leipzig, and the team missed his presence at the back, as he's been a regular starter at center-back. On that same note, Elvedi should return to the starting lineup for the upcoming match against Mainz.

Impact Recently, Honorat has been demoted to Monchengladbach's bench unit. But only on his second substitution appearance since his demotion, he stepped up by providing extra cushion for the team's eventual win Saturday. Honorat logged an assist to a goal recorded by Pefok and scored one himself. Currently, the former has two goals and seven assists this Bundesliga season.

Impact Siebatcheu, who logged a goal upon re-entering Monchengladbach's starting XI, had not scored across four consecutive appearances afterward. But on Saturday, he broke the goal drought, which has not been that bad. Even with it, Siebatcheu has three goals across his last seven appearances.

Impact Weigl now has two goals across the 2023-24 Bundesliga. The midfielder's updated goal tally is a big deal, considering he never scored multiple times in domestic-league action during his time with Borussia Dortmund.

Impact Wober logged the assist to Monchengladbach's first goal, scored by Nathan Ngoumou. The former now has three assists across his 2023-24 season. It has proven to be a big hit for the central defender, who had never logged any domestic-league assists with teams like Sevilla and Leeds United before his mid-2023 loan from the latter to Monchengladbach.

Moritz Nicolas - Lets in two again Nicolas made three saves and allowed two goals in Saturday's 5-2 victory over Bochum.

Impact Nicolas has conceded multiple goals in back-to-back appearances. But unlike the former, he did not log seven saves or multiple clearances Saturday. Nicolas will look to get back on track during Monchenglabdach's next game, currently scheduled Saturday at Mainz.

Jordan Siebatcheu - Four shots in loss Pefok generated four shots (zero on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 2-0 loss versus RB Leipzig. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 83rd minute.

Impact Pefok was able to play the entire 90 minutes after picking up a thigh injury last match. Since returning from his previous thigh injury, he has started five of the last six games, logging in two goals and one assist in that span.

Jonas Omlin - Takes part in drills Omlin (shoulder) has begun to take part in some drills on the grass ahead of Saturday's match versus Leipzig.

Impact Omlin returned to the training grounds as he continues to work back from a shoulder injury. He may need at least a full week of team training before being an option for the team, with Moritz Nicolas continuing to be the number one option in the net for the team.

Impact Honorat provided opportunities for the Monchengladbach attack during his 72 minutes of play Saturday. Honorat has not registered an assist in his last five matches, but it is not for the want of trying. Over that span, Honorat has attempted 27 crosses (9 accurate), attempted seven corners and created nine chances.

Impact Cvancara appears to be missing another match, marking his fifth straight game on the sidelines. This is a brutal blow for the forward who is looking for more play time, but it shouldn't be too much of an issue for the club, as he has only started six times all season, playing in more of a rotational role. He will now look to have a good week of training and hopefully be an option to face Leipzig on Feb. 17.

Alassane Plea - Out with injury Plea is not in the squad to face Bayern on Saturday due to a metatarsal injury.

Impact Plea will hope the injury isn't serious as he's been added to Gladbach's lengthy list of absences. Pefok will lead the line for Gladbach during Saturday's clash with Bayern.

Rocco Reitz - Extends contract Reitz has agreed to a contract extension with Monchengladbach on Thursday, now remaining with the club until 2028.

Impact Reitz started out as a homegrown player with his current team, and that does not look to be changing any time soon, having signed a two-year extension Thursday. The midfielder has held a decent role within the club this season, notching four goals on 15 shots and two assists on eight chances created in 19 starts, with 15 of those being starts. He will hope to continue down the path of success during the rest of his tenure, as the 19-year-old seems to be developing into a decent player.

Florian Neuhaus - Holds rotational role Neahaus is still struggling to find a starting role after beginning the season in that spot, only earning one start since Oct. 28.

Impact Neahaus had earned the start in six of the club's first eight matches but since then has fallen to a bench role, only notching one start in the club's previous nine matches, going unused in three of those contests. He had held a starting role over his past five seasons with the club, so it is a bit of a surprise to see the midfielder fall out of a major role. He has not registered a single goal contribution since being relegated to the bench, so he will have to work on that if he wants any chance of capturing his spot back, as his 122 minutes of play over the past nine matches is not feasible for a player of his level.

Robin Hack - Nets brace in win over Stuttgart Hack scored two goals off three shots (two on target) and drew two fouls during Sunday's 3-1 win over Stuttgart.

Impact Hack was clinical in front of the net here, scoring twice in just 19 minutes to give his side a lead that would never be reliquished. That's now two goals and two assist over three games for the attacker since being moved to the starting XI. He'll try to keep it up during next Sunday's home clash against Augsburg.

JANUARY 16 • ROTOWIRE

Alassane Plea - Picks up foot issue Plea picked up a foot sprain during Sunday's 3-1 win over Stuttgart, according to manager Gerardo Seoane.

Impact Plea picked up the injury after getting back on the scoresheet with an assist during Sunday's win. The forward isn't in too serious of pain and barring a surprise diagnosis it appears he should be back on the pitch for Sunday's clash with Augsburg.

Hannes Wolf - Not ready for debut Wolf (knee) is unavailable for Sunday's match against Stuttgart.

Impact Wolf remains out as he continues to recover from a knee injury which has kept him from debuting this season. The midfielder has been training with the club in recent weeks in hopes of a full return to action.
