Lorenz Assignon - Loaned to BurnleyAssignon completed a loan move to Burnley from Rennes, the club announced.
ImpactAssignon makes the switch to England with Burnley on loan for the second half of the season. The defender has made 14 appearances (12 starts) in Ligue 1 for Rennes this season and could step into a major role with Burnley as well. Assignon could make a permanent move to Burnley if he can impress on this loan.
FEBRUARY 1ROTOWIRE
Phil Foden - Earns assist against BurnleyFoden assisted once to go with two shots (zero on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Wednesday's 3-1 win versus Burnley.
ImpactFoden earned his fourth goal contribution in as many games Thursday, finding Rodri in the 46th minute for the club's third goal of the match. The English winger has been on fire as of recently, now having five goals and seven assists in League play. He continues to be good for a goal contribution in almost any game City plays in, also having great stats in the attack with his 36 crosses, 43 crosses and 51 shots in 21 Premier League appearances this season.
FEBRUARY 1ROTOWIRE
Matheus Nunes - Assist in winNunes assisted once to go with two shots (one on goal), two crosses (one accurate) and four chances created in Wednesday's 3-1 win over Burnley.
ImpactNunes gained his first start in the Premiership in two matches Thursday, bagging an assist in the 16th minute off of a Julian Alvarez goal. Nunes now has two assists in the Premier League this season, with his last coming back on Sep. 23 against Nottingham Forest. The midfielder has started in three of the club's past six matches and will hope to keep finding this much time in the starting XI, as after a hefty workload to start the season, he saw most of his minutes come off of the bench up until this point.
FEBRUARY 1ROTOWIRE
Kevin De Bruyne - Assist in starting XI returnDe Bruyne assisted once to go with three shots (zero on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and three corners in Wednesday's 3-1 victory against Burnley.
ImpactDe Bruyne got his first start in Premier League play since going down with an injury in early August, and he did not disappoint, notching an assist on Julian Alvarez's goal in the 22nd minute. The midfielder now has three goal contributions in only two games since his return to the team sheet, appearing to not have been affected by his knee issues at all. His playmaking has also been great across those two matches, notching four chances created, five shots and 10 crosses. He will look to keep this high form of playing going as he tries to regain momentum after all the time on the sidelines, hoping to be the key to push City to their fourth straight title.
FEBRUARY 1ROTOWIRE
Rodri - Goal against BurnleyRodri scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) and one chance created in Wednesday's 3-1 victory against Burnley.
ImpactRodri continued his hot streak Thursday, bagging a goal contribution for a third consecutive match after finding the back of the net in the 46th minute off of a Phil Foden assist. This now gives Rodri eight goal contributions on the season, notching five goals and three assists. The midfielder still is one of the club's most influential players, but with Kevin De Bruyne returning to the side, his stats in the playmaking department may take a slight hit. He should still be good for a goal or assist now and then but don't be surprised if his chances created and overall offensive contribution start to drop in the coming contests.
FEBRUARY 1ROTOWIRE
Julian Alvarez - Nets braceAlvarez scored two goals to go with two shots (two on goal), three crosses (zero accurate) and two corners in Wednesday's 3-1 victory against Burnley.
ImpactAlvarez recorded his first Premier League brace of the season Wednesday, finding the net just six minutes apart after scoring in the 16th minute off of a Matheus Nunes assist and again in the 22nd off of a Kevin De Bruyne assist. The Argentine now has 14 goal contributions in League play this season, notching eight goals and six assists. He will hope to still maintain a normal role within the squad moving forward, as with De Bruyne and Erling Haaland both back in the side, his minutes may start to dwindle after being a regular starter all season.
FEBRUARY 1ROTOWIRE
Ederson - Concedes late into matchEderson registered two saves and allowed one goal in Wednesday's 3-1 victory against Burnley. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 75th minute.
ImpactEderson was not tested all that much Wednesday but still managed to give up a goal, recording two saves but allowing a late consolation goal in the 93rd minute. This was the goalie's first match since going down with a knee knock against Newcastle, but he appeared to be fine after playing all 90 minutes. He will look to pick up his fifth Premier League clean sheet of the season when City faces Brentford on Monday.
