Reed Baker-Whiting - Not released by Sounders Baker-Whiting will not join the USYNT for the Pan American games after Seattle refused to release him, Jeremiah Oshan reports.

Impact Baker-Whiting was called up to the USYNT squad after an impressive second half in MLS, but wasn't released by Seattle. Since the Pan-Am games do not occur during a FIFA international break the Sounders are not obligated to release any players, meaning Baker-Whiting should be an option for the closing matches of the regular season and playoffs.

Impact The Seattle defender is the most experienced player in the squad given he's made 18 appearances (five starts) for the Sounders in 2023. While his absence will hurt the team's depth at the back, but he isn't expected to be a regular in the XI in the playoffs, so his absence won't affect many fantasy decisions.

Stefan Frei - Easy clean sheet Frei recorded no saves and allowed zero goals in Sunday's 0-0 draw against Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

Impact Frei didn't face a single shot and came away with one of the easiest clean sheets of his career. In his last three matches Frei has faced just two shots, conceding one goal and keeping two clean sheets. Frei is up to 13 clean sheets in 31 matches, just three of his previous career-high of 16 in 2017/18.

That doesn't hide that his has been perhaps his most lackluster individual season yet. The attacking superstar has 11 goal contributions but just one goal and only five primary helpers. Coming off 18 goal contributions and seven goals in 2022 it's possible that time is catching up to Lodeiro.
