Impact Unlike the first-round game against Northern Kentucky, Sasser completed the Cougars' Birmingham trip with a 22-point output during their second-round matchup against Auburn. They will need that scoring moving forward, as the Cougars are expected to play Tier 1 opponents, beginning with a Sweet Sixteen matchup Friday against either No. 5 Miami or No. 4 Indiana.

Shead mentioned after the win that his knee has been bothering him for a while and that he hurt it more in the first half of Thursday's game. The 6-1 junior reassured reporters that he'll be fine for Saturday's game against Auburn, however, head coach Kelvin Sampson will likely need to dig a little deeper into his bench with both Shead and Sasser ailing with injuries of their own.

Marcus Sasser - Questionable to return Thursday Sasser reaggravated his groin injury during the first half of Thursday's game against Northern Kentucky and is questionable to return, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
Impact Sasser did not come out with the rest of the team to warm up before the start of the second half and was seen trying to loosen up on the stationary bike as play resumed. The 6-2 senior was visibly bothered by his groin issue on the bench after being taken out in the first half and it's a strong possibility he may not return to the floor if the pain is not tolerable. Sasser scored five points (2-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt) and chipped in two rebounds across 14 minutes in the first half. The Cougars are currently locked into a tight battle with the Norse and may have to grind out the rest of the game without their leading scorer.
