Sidelined with the flu Cook did not take the court in Monday's season opener against UMBC, as he was out with the flu according to Guerry Smith of The New Orleans Advocate. Impact While Cook was a key piece during the team's foreign tour in August, he was held out of a recent exhibition game due to a hamstring injury. That doesn't appear to be what's keeping him out here, but rather a flu bug affecting several members of the team. Cook is expected to take on a big chunk of the ball-handling responsibility when healthy, but in the meantime, Kevin Cross took on a point-forward role, with Sion James also chipping in. It's unclear at this time if Cook will be able to suit up for Friday's matchup against McNeese State.
